Sizng and FitFitting your wetsuit is of great importance and should be done with care and attention. Please refer to our Guide – How to put on a wetsuit – for further information
Modern triathlon wetsuits were invented by Dan Empfield in 1987 and are customized to the needs of triathletes, they generally incorporate the following key features which differentiates them from a normal wetsuit. 1, Thinner and/or more pliable rubber near the shoulders. 2, Long zippers to facilitate quick removal during transition. In addition, tri wetsuits have a very smooth, but often fragile, surface. This slick surface helps to reduce water friction and allows a faster swim. Another advantage of a tri wetsuit is the added buoyancy that the wetsuit provides, this can provide triathletes with a considerable speed and energy saving advantage over swimming without a suit.

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
If you have longer legs/shorter torso, I would recommend going for the smaller size (Large).
If you have most of your weight in your torso, move up to the XL.
The wetsuit will give after a few wears and the smaller size will be more of a streamline race fit but remember that in transition, the larger size will come off quicker!
If you do go for the smaller suit, make sure to have the base of the zip above your coccyx (tail bone) before doing up the zipper, so as to make sure there isn't too much strain on the zip. Hope this helps
Height 174 or 5'9"
Weight 176lbs or 12 stone 8lbs
and normally take a 38 - 40 inch chest
Inside leg 31.5"
Would a medium or medium solid be the best fit. Apologies if this is obvious, this will be my first wetsuit and have not had an opportunity to try a 2XU suit locally.
Many thanks in advance.
Height 190 cm, weight 77 kr, chest 97 cm. I am a bit worried about the height for the the Orca TRN size MT, do you think this whould work or do you recommend the Z:1 to get a better (but more expensive) fit for a OW beginner, but experienced indoor swimmer?
I am 175cm tall or 5'9
I weight 63Kg
And have a 37inch chest
Also not done growing yet and looking for it to last a while
and my weight is 70kg.
I'm doing my first triathlon this summer, which has a 1900m swim. I'm guess I'm an average swimmer to most standards, but I've never competed, and my freestyle leaves a lot to be desired...
I'm 193cm tall, 108kg, and chest is around 116cm. Should I go for XL or XXL on the Z:1?
And would I be better off in the Zone3 Venture suit? (Or another for that matter?)
Please contact us on the link below and we will look into this further for you.
I am 1.81m and 84.5kg. What size should i go for?
I'm a pretty average swimmer, competing in first Ironman.
looking for the best bouyancy entry level suit
either the Orca S4 Full Sleeve Wetsuit OR the 2XU Z:1 Wetsuit
Both have great reviews but 2XU reviews mention higher bouyancy.
Is that a noticeable difference in your opinion or will both give me the bouyancy I need.
I'm a rugby player and have quite heavy legs so I'd be happy for additional float!
6'2" or 190cm.
chest size is 110-112 cm
current weight is 98kg but will be more like 96 by the event.
the Orca is a bit cheaper.....that's the only difference.
