Having a First Aid kit and the knowledge to use it should be something that every rider has. The Ortlieb First Aid pack is a basic but effective piece of kit, small and light enough to be a permanent fixture in the bottom of your Camelbak. Housed in a robust waterproof bag adopting Ortlieb's simple but effective roll top closure system, this has seen a surprising amount of use in its lifetime.Sticking to the basics required for dealing with trailside injury, there is space to add additional first aid kit such as pain killers, latex gloves or extra plasters. The only thing it could benefit from is a laminated card advising on how to deal with the most common types of injury but that is a minor quibble. The Velcro fastening gave up the ghost after a couple of months but the press stud strap has kept everything in place and the bag watertight. Weighing in at only 90 grammes, it lived unnoticed at the bottom of my bag until called into action.
For the price, it's difficult to find a good reason not to have one. Highly recommended.
