A2Z Universal Disc Mount 3.9 5 7 7

Works fine on the right frames This is the second one of these I've purchased. They work perfectly on an old alloy MTB frame with big flat dropouts. I have one on an old v braked Norco with hydraulic disks and it hasn't budged. There is slightly less convenience in that you must remove the skewer to pop your rear wheel out but that's no big deal. If you've got a frame you love but need disks, this product will work a treat IF it has the big flat plate dropouts on it. Not for steel frames. 04 September 2012

Cheapest option for retrofit discs Works well. Hard to say if will work on every bike as very dependent on frame design - if there is enough metal on frame to fit should be fine. Needed to space rotor on hub slightly to get good caliper fit - just have a load of thin washers handy to line everything up. 09 October 2011

How does it fit onto the frame??

Cannot see clearly how this would fit so if you could let me know that would be great!

Answer:

The front silver plate is removed, the black alloy plate is placed to the inside of the frame with the little alloy shoe sitting on the seat stay. Once you have it positioned, you put the silver plate on the outside of the frame, sandwiching the dropout between the two plates. Tighten the bolts, make sure the little skewer hole is sitting where you want it in relation to the axle dropout in the frame and you're done. The relationship between the little skewer hole and the frame dropout makes sure that the disk mount is in the right place to line up with the disk.

This fits either side of the dropout and is clamped in place by 4 allen key bolts and the rear wheel skewer

Answer:

2006 kona lanai is alloy, which usually means larger dropout area. However, I can't find a picture of the dropouts. To work out if it'll fit, you need about 3cm or so of flat dropout on the disk side otherwise the plates don't have enough room to sandwich the dropout without being interefered by the seat and chain stays.

I think that due to the cowling on the quick release you may have trouble fitting the adapter. Unfortunately it will be a case of trying it out as I can't tell you from the picture.
