About Wetsuits
Modern triathlon wetsuits were invented by Dan Empfield in 1987 and are customized to the needs of triathletes, they generally incorporate the following key features which differentiates them from a normal wetsuit. 1, Thinner and/or more pliable rubber near the shoulders. 2, Long zippers to facilitate quick removal during transition. In addition, tri wetsuits have a very smooth, but often fragile, surface. This slick surface helps to reduce water friction and allows a faster swim. Another advantage of a tri wetsuit is the added buoyancy that the wetsuit provides, this can provide triathletes with a considerable speed and energy saving advantage over swimming without a suit.

Magazine reviews for Aqua Sphere Energise Compression Speedsuit
Review from Triathlon Plus
May 2012
Like the Sailfish suit, Aqua Sphere's Energize is most at home in
the water. The fit is fairly comfortable, with supportive compression, though
the relatively thick seams of the thin shoulder straps dig in a little to begin
with.
As predicted, the suit was quick in the water but it was also supportive
around the hips and seemed more buoyant too.
Water shedding was impressive and the basic, fleecy pad
satisfies for short distances on the bike with the rear-zipped pocket serving
well to store gels. However, the lack of any mesh panels really harmed
ventilation, especially considering the suit is rear zipped.
Things get even hotter on the run, making it uncomfortable for heavy sweaters or
those who crave fast wicking, airy gear.
In conclusion...
One for swimming purists, the benefits are
limited once the first leg is over
Rating: 3/5

Ask your questions and share your answers.
Anyone an idea? If it's a wet-suit, does it give enough buoyancy and water benefits?
Thx :)

I eventually bought the suit here on wiggle which was delivered promptly. I tried it out and indeedit really helps swimming you faster. One thing, however, bugged me: the zipper chord. It has Velcro on one end but nowhere to attach to. Hence it keeps wrapping around my arms. Anyone any idea how to keep it o the back?
Thx a lot :)
