Top Features of the Aqua Sphere Energise Compression Speedsuit
- Designed to be worn over your tri-suit for non-wetsuit races
- Streamlined fit
- Shaped side panels target specific core muscles while maximizing flexibility and comfort
- Long back zip
- Comfortable silicone leg grips prevent ride-up
- Flat seams reduce drag
- Water repellent
Utilizing DYNAMIX high compression textile the speed suit compresses the core muscles during the swim portion of a triathlon; saving energy by streamlining the body and reducing drag. In addition, strategically placed panels protect the muscles by reducing vibrations and keeping the core muscles fresh for the bike and run.
Modern triathlon wetsuits were invented by Dan Empfield in 1987 and are customized to the needs of triathletes, they generally incorporate the following key features which differentiates them from a normal wetsuit. 1, Thinner and/or more pliable rubber near the shoulders. 2, Long zippers to facilitate quick removal during transition. In addition, tri wetsuits have a very smooth, but often fragile, surface. This slick surface helps to reduce water friction and allows a faster swim. Another advantage of a tri wetsuit is the added buoyancy that the wetsuit provides, this can provide triathletes with a considerable speed and energy saving advantage over swimming without a suit.

Magazine reviews for Aqua Sphere Energise Compression Speedsuit
Review from Triathlon Plus
Like the Sailfish suit, Aqua Sphere's Energize is most at home in
the water. The fit is fairly comfortable, with supportive compression, though
the relatively thick seams of the thin shoulder straps dig in a little to begin
As predicted, the suit was quick in the water but it was also supportive
around the hips and seemed more buoyant too.
Water shedding was impressive and the basic, fleecy pad
satisfies for short distances on the bike with the rear-zipped pocket serving
well to store gels. However, the lack of any mesh panels really harmed
ventilation, especially considering the suit is rear zipped.
Things get even hotter on the run, making it uncomfortable for heavy sweaters or
those who crave fast wicking, airy gear.
One for swimming purists, the benefits are
limited once the first leg is over
Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Anyone an idea? If it's a wet-suit, does it give enough buoyancy and water benefits?
If you consider that the chans of losing 1-2 kg, will your advise be the same?
I'm 179 cm tall, weight 67 kg, waist about 84 cm. What size would you recomend me?
What is the recommended men's sizing for 175cm (height) and 71kg (weight)?
Trying to select one but the Aqua Sphere official guidance isn't much help!
Thnks! / Andy
I eventually bought the suit here on wiggle which was delivered promptly. I tried it out and indeedit really helps swimming you faster. One thing, however, bugged me: the zipper chord. It has Velcro on one end but nowhere to attach to. Hence it keeps wrapping around my arms. Anyone any idea how to keep it o the back?
Thx a lot :)
