About the Assos brand

Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling clothing, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle. The white ones are good at stopping the harsh sun These arms are good for summer and spring, the have the Assos magic and breath in the sun, they stop the cancer causing sun from hitting my arms, I have had melanomas removed so cannot ride bare arms in the sun. These may get warm on hot days but never hot or sweaty, I do not know how they do it BUT they work. If you are riding in the sun and value your skin you probably should not have bare arms, these work every time and the last pair last for 2 summers of us when they were used 7 days a week for 6 months. Great quality and I thinnk they look good 14 November 2012

Perfect for taking the chill out These arm protectors are perfect for taking the chill out in cool summer mornings. I find roubaix / fleece lined arm warmers too warm with summer jerseys so these are the right thickness. The fit is excellent, especially with the bent elbows. The only issue is the colour - the black looks faded and doesn't match the usual deep black on your knicks. 26 October 2012

Highly recommended! Looks great, fits perfectly. The Assos logo on my white pair was white, not black as in the image, looks even better and the logo is reflective. 28 May 2012

Not ideal for uv protection in warmer climates These seem to be quite well made arm warmers, and I have no qualms in recommending them to others. However, I live in Australia and I can't see myself ever wearing these in summer, they are simply too thick and I think I would find them too hot. I'm enjoying using them at the moment on sunny autumn days, and they are comfortable enough to leave on when riding for 4-5 hours at a time in the morning/early afternoon (although they aren't very warm for early starts). Ultimately they appear to be of limited use in the Australian climate. 20 April 2012

Assos arm protector sizing

Hi,

I am torn on what size to get these in. I am 186cm tall with 13" biceps. I am assuming they are the same sizing as the assos arm warmers.
I was deliberating on size 2.
I have only used dessotto arm coolers in the past in L, and they were quite tight, not sure on how tight they are meant to be worn.

Help is appreciated,

They fit on the small side - I don't know my bicep measurement (i think about 12 inches) but im 178cm tall and i have the "II" M/L size which are a tight fit (spot on, but verging on too small) around the wrist and bicep. They are also quite short.
