About the Assos brand

Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling clothing, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle. During the wind tunnel tests of the first ever carbon-fibre bike, Toni inadvertently found that lycra downhill ski racing suits had much less drag than the woolen-knitted cycling clothes of the time. Looks fantastic. Weather has been so good in Sydney....there has been no requirement to wear my new arm warmers! Must say, they do look flash. Recommend on looks. 22 December 2012

Has nice improvements from the previous model. I've used Assos Arm Warmers for the last 3 years or so and absolutely loved them. They were just a pair of plain straight cut roubaix tubes, but they had nearly perfect snug fit on my arms and were the only pair I could wear and forget as far as I've tried (I didn't have to pull them up every 15 minutes like loose socks). So it was a natural choice for me to replace them with a new pair from Assos warmers. Now that I've done so, I noticed they've made a couple of improvements over the previous model... First off, fit is now even better with the new contoured shape. It was never an issue with older ones either, but the new shape feels easier to move around the elbows. As is typical with other Assos items, they're really snug and feel almost a bit too tight at first and then gradually 'blend' with your body and movement in a few minutes, if you see what I mean. Second, they've improved the wind protection level with the altered front panel. They feel noticeably warmer in nippy wind when you bomb down a descent, and they do so without adding thickness or weight. The new fabric feels nicer to touch, too. The soft fabric seems to be the same one that's used on the thigh panels of T.607 thermal bibshorts I've been using since last year, and if this is the case they should be just as durable as traditional roubaix fabric. What they could have done better is the visibility in low light conditions. They have small reflective tubs on the back, but I doubt they're big enough. All in all, I really like them and better than the previous model so far. 05 November 2012

Dual material great multi function arm warmers The colour material is a breathable woven type affair but not with large holes. It's a thin/thick honeycomb effect. The solid black is a more conventional roubaix style. I think the photos show these the wrong way around, and instead I wear the honeycomb on the inside/underarm for breathability while the roubaix covers outer and upper arm as it kills the wind. I suppose if you wear arm warmers for UV protection then wearing as in photo would suit, however they can work equally well in another way. Fit is good, 6'3 with 36" work shrit sleeves, and II fits well. I am a muscular build and the IIs leave seam impressions in my arm, so would I am sure would suit thinner types in a smaller sizing. 16 September 2012

Why haven't I used these before Assos quality shows through again. They are worm! But ideal for early starts. We're always climbing in Wales so these are great because they allow you to pull them down when you're hot climbing and lift them up to travel down. Great! 24 June 2012

Unfortunately there is not a size chart for these arm warmers. It is generally recommended to use arm warmers of the same size as the jersey you wear.
