Engineering
The T.607 Represents the base of the newly developed cold weather range of shorts, knickers and tights. It is part of the new Campionissimo line of garments with a new pattern design, newly developed textiles, new inserts and a refined assembly process.
Construction
The T.607 is built out of 12 panels using 5 different textiles and 29 components, all carefully engineered, defined and applied. The main textile used is a heavier version of the legendary RX microfibre, fleece type insulator fabric with a brushed inner surface. The Brand new RXQ Fabric improves on RX by becoming more robust and featuring a 3D air channel inner structure.
Not only are the fabrics redefined, Assos redefined a new 4 panel cut, perfectly calibrated to the fabrics used. The heart of the T.607 is its insert, the Assos S5 elastic interface as seen on the FI.Mille.
RXQ
The newly developed RXQ fabric is based on the legendary Assos RX textile. RXQ is an active breathable, two way stretch. soft touch, microfiber insulator fabric. lt's uniqueness lies in the fact that its brushed fleece inner surface is a hollow micro Polyester blend featuring 30 air channel texture which creates a next-to-body micro air cushion. Air is an insulator; wrapping your body with such a structured textile will enhance and promote this function. Lowering the volume of the fabric while enhancing its push-pull performance improves it's body heat retention properties.
About Lycra Cycling Shorts
Cycle shorts offer unrestricted movement on the bike with the added benefit of a chamois for comfort. They are the traditional cycling leg wear for any distance rider. Lycra shorts hold their internal pad in the ideal position throughout the ride, offering comfort and cushioning for both on and off road riding. Lycra shorts stretch with your body so there are no seams to rub you up the wrong way or restrict your pedalling motion. They are lightweight in material and since there is only one layer of thin fabric, they breathe well and keep you cool on hot days, or can be used under a pair of winter tights. Higher end models will have more panels and will generally fit better, a good pair of shorts is essential for longer rides and combined with a chamois crème make a wise investment.
About the Assos brand
Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling clothing, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle. During the wind tunnel tests of the first ever carbon-fibre bike, Toni inadvertently found that lycra downhill ski racing suits had much less drag than the woolen-knitted cycling clothes of the time. To this day Assos firmly believe in total product competence, delivering optimum function and comfort, by researching and making its cycling clothing and accessories from the very best materials.

Assos Shorts and Tights
ASSOS apparel is cut for a close anatomic fit that doesn't restrict your movement in the riding position. The bib straps might pull when standing upright but will 'click' into place in the tucked cycling position.
TIR Fit
Assos TIR shorts share the same height measurements as XLG size shorts but feature a wider, more accommodating cut for those with larger builds.
