Geared Positioning fit system
The often imitated Geared Positioning System (GPS) delivers easy and quick one-hand adjustment for superior fit and comfort. Simply slide the dial to click-in a custom fit.
Camlock strap levers
Bell’s Cam-Lock strap levers make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. Simply open the cam…position comfortably and close the lever.
Channeled ventilation
Specially designed ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet's liner bring cool air in through the front, pass it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports.
Fusion In Mold Microshell
In-molding is the process of bonding the helmet’s Microshell to its EPS foam layer to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. The EPS foam is shot into the thin Microshell cap when it’s in the mold rather than formed separately and taped on later. This process was pioneered by Bell and is now the industry standard for all high-end helmets.

Bell's three-size helmets are designed for the more serious and demanding rider. They are designed to optimally fit the rider with a shell size as close as possible to the rider’s head size. Bell's Universal Fit helmets are for more casual riders who don’t want to spend a lot of money, but want top-notch protection. Universal Fit helmets are targeted to a wider range of head sizes and feature our ErgoDial fit system. In many cases a rider may fit into more than one Universal Fit category. |

About Road Helmets
Performance cycle helmets offer unrivalled levels of protection with the absolute minimum of material. They are ridiculously light and feature a series of huge vents, designed to scoop up air and direct it over your head. On long, hot climbs, the difference is noticeable.
In order to cycle on the road or compete in a race it may be a legal requirement in your country to wear a helmet certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. All helmets sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CE EN1078 standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this helmet has been additionally certified for your country.
About the Bell brand
From Grand Prix racing through to the Indy 500 to Olympic cycling, Bell helmets have played a vital role in protecting sportsmen and women for nearly 50 years. Bell began as a small auto parts store in a suburb of Los Angeles. Growing under the benevolent leadership of Roy Richter, Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling and then bicycling. His commitment to creating great product through a close connection with the sport, along with his trust of and care for the people who worked for him, turned Bell from a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar enterprise. His legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation. More world champions have worn Bell cycling Helmets than all other helmet brands combined.

Magazine reviews for Bell Lumen Road Helmet - 2012
Review from Cycling Plus
This new helmet from Bell enters a crowded market. It features 22 high volume, internally channelled vents and tips the scales at 332g.
It's not following the lightweight trend that has seen lids dip beneath the 200g mark - but frankly when you're wearing a helmet you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between one that weighs 200g and one that weighs 300g.
What the Lumen does have going for it is that it meets the American CPSC standard in addition to having the usual European EN1078 accreditation. The standards are very similar, although the American standard is generally reckoned to be tougher to achieve.
The impact velocity that helmets are tested to on the flat anvil drop is 6.2m/s for the CPSC standard and 5.42-5.52m/s for EN1078; impact velocity is tested up to 300g for CPSC and 250g for the European standard.
Construction quality is what you'd hope for from one of the world's biggest helmet manufacturers. It's very well finished, the rotary retention system can be altered singlehandedly as you ride and the clips for altering strap length are both easy to undo and stay firmly closed, which isn't always the case.
In conclusion...
Good quality mid-price helmet with US accreditation
