nice tape This tape has a great retro look and is easy to apply, however it is not the most comfortable as it is very thin but you could put a double layer on 21 August 2012

Poor all round This tape looks like a bargain, but value is a combination of price and quality, and this tape is certainly not good value. I used it on my town bike until it was no longer usable (about a month) and had to replace it with something decent. Aesthetically it doesn't look too bad for the price (although it does look quite synthetic), but other than that it's all pretty bad... The synthetic finish is very slippery, especially when wet, the adhesive is poor and doesn't really do the job at all, the bar end plugs fall out as they're too small and it tears and rips very easily. In short - do yourself a favour and get a superior product that will last you far, far longer. 28 July 2011

Excellent finishing touch. This product is both very attractive and great value for money. Achieving a neat and equal finish is easy as the punched holes only go halfway over the width of the tape; you simply continue to wrap round the bar to line-up with the middle set of holes. Everything is included to do a first class job. 14 June 2011

Cheap and cheerful This tape was easy to wrap (given that I've never done it before). The diagrams on the back weren't particularly helpful but I found some great videos on YouTube showing how to do it properly. I used this bar tap to revamp my old pub bike and I'm very happy with it for that purpose. I wouldn't use it on a more precious bike, I'd spend a bit more money. It is fine for what it is but this tape does feel plastic-y, and aesthetically it would look better with smaller perforations. The finishing tape it comes with is ugly and black, which would have looked odd with the white tape. However, I wasn't expecting it to come with any, I used white electrical tape instead. The end caps are perfectly fine. There was only just enough tape to wrap the bars. My proper road bike bars are thicker and 5cm wider, had I used it on them I would have run out of tape. 22 April 2011

Is this enough tape for the whole bar?

Just wondering if this enough tape for the whole bar, I have a schwinn racing bike, and need some better tape as the stuff I have at the moment is cheap and uncomforable, is this tape padded?

Answer:

it comes with 2 rolls one for the left and one for the right. it was more than enough for my 46cm bars. I stopped the wrap about 5cm or so from the stem on either side. it is padded....its thicker than normal tape and quite spongy which offers great vibration absorption.
