Perfect for my purposes...open water swimming
An excellent insulating skull cap to wear with a swim wetsuit for OW swimming! It formed a nice close fit around the ears when used with a conventional swim hat and the fact it is thin meant it does not feel bulky or obtrusive in the water. It seems very well made and looks set to last a long time.

Toasty warm
I bought this after reading reviews, in preparation for my first open water swim. The water temperature was 12.5 degrees. This hat kept me warm, and it fitted well (head diamemetre 56cm). Overall it did the job I wanted it to do, and I will be wearing it again.
I also bought the matching wetsuit socks, which were an absolute necessity...see my separate review.

nice thick skull cap but size comes up very small
I bought a small in the cap as i have a small head, however, the band that goes around yur throat practically cuts me in half.. So i ordered the medium but that skull cap part is a bit big even though the chin strap is more comfortable.
i am sure i will be grateful of the extra warmth provided on the day.. so long as i can breath. have only rated it average as i havent actually used it in cold water yet.. and am rating it for fit

Cap provides excellent warmth. Fit's snuggly, but doesn't feel intrusive under chin etc....

The consensus seems to be - if in doubt go for the larger size. Unless you have a particularly small head, go for the large. My head is 59/60cms and the large skull cap is close fitting, even 'tight' - as it should be.1 month, 3 weeks ago

I'm female: I tried small and medium and found the small size chin strap restrictive and the medium perfect. The caps are very flexible and easy to put on; the comfort of the chin strap is the main thing to get right. If it gapes a little behind the ears pull it down at the forehead for the proper fit. It certainly keeps ear plugs in place. I haven't tried yet without ear plugs. I think it should stop the water slapping into your ears but I'm not sure that it keeps all water out - may depend on the fit.Country : United Kingdom
