Heat Mouldable Chassis
The A1 sole is comprised of a single, stiff, ultra-light unidirectional carbon layup with a 3k weave surface layer. Unlike conventional soles, Bont soles extend beyond the base of the foot, enveloping the sides for lateral support. This ensures no energy is lost in sideways movement and also reinforces vertical rigidity. The result is a tangible increase in stiffness and security. The fit can be customised to the precise shape of your foot thanks to heat mouldable thermo set epoxy resin, offering essential comfort for high mileage rides and endurance athletes. Bont's sole configuration also allows an outstanding 3.6mm stack height for a totally connected feel without a watt of wasted energy.
Bont shoes are built on a last shape developed with extensive research and Bont's own expertise from 20 years of sport shoe manufacturing. The upper is constructed from a smooth, aerodynamic microfibre outer with a non porous lining and closed cell memory foam padding for cushioning without water or odour retention. The outer features 40 frontal perforations air grills in the arch area for cooling airflow in hot conditions.
Closure is handled by a micrometric ratchet buckle coupled to a wide instep strap for a precise, even and secure fit. 2 wide velcro toe straps offer pressure free retention down the length of the shoe.
Road racing cycling shoes are designed without compromise to provide optimum power transfer between your foot and the pedal, a good quality road cycling shoe is a wise investment for performance and weight saving and is often overlooked. High-tech materials and precision manufacture keep weight down and stiffness up, this means your rotational mass is lower and power transfer is higher, resulting in more forward momentum for your effort.
Founded in 1975, Bont began when Inze Bont, a recreational skater decided to fiberglass the back of his leather skates to gain extra support. A simple, yet innovative approach which started a company now in its 35th year, with product ranges across two highly competitive sports and sales across 56 countries.
Inze's innovation saw Bont as the first footwear manufacturer to commercially use materials such as fiberglass in 1975, Kevlar in 1986 and Carbon in 1989. The companies philosophy in continually driving development, along with its reputation for producing the highest quality products rapidly made it the largest producer of hand made speed skates in the world, a position it has continually held and one that is backed up by not only our volume of products sold, but by countless world championship medals.
In 2007, after continual requests the decision was made to expand the companies product line into the cycling market. Working together with world class athletes, Bont launched its initial offering of cycling shoes and in its inaugural year at the 2008 Beijing Olympics finished with 8 Gold medals.
Since 2008, Bont Cycling has rapidly grown it's product line to over 12 models in stock sizing and now caters extensively to all disciplines of cycling. Our range of cycling shoes cater not only to high performance athletes, but also to enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Bont as a company continues to grow with the help of a dedicated team of individuals. Our team, including our factory which is dedicated to Bont products only, strives to continually improve our products in all aspects. We work with total respect for all within the Bont family and value all input from within our team and from the countless individuals who use our products.
Bont will continue to grow through maintaining our constant drive in product innovation, continually improving on product quality and through providing exceptional support and service.
