The 11 speed chain has been designed for shifting more rapidly and fluidly even under stress, and to be more resistant than the 10 speed one.
Silence, Action. The new Chorus 11 speed chain is quieter than ever. The new 5.5 millimetre thickness has been combined with the new materials and a special anti-vibration treatment which permits outstanding fludity.
It is necessary to use the new UT-CN300 tool to fit it.

A bicycle chain is a 'roller chain' that has the task of transferring power from the cranks to the rear wheel of the bike thus propelling it. Most bicycle chains are made from alloy steel, but some are chrome plated or stainless steel to prevent rust, or simply for good looks. Chains will vary in width depending on the amount of gears you have, most are 3/32 inch for use with geared systems and then come in 'speeds' which needs to matched to the cassette, ie a 10 speed cassette will need a 10 speed chain and so on. Track bikes or single speeds often run 1/8 inch rings so will need a 1/8 inch chain as well, these will have larger plates to aid stopping on a fixed wheel, which can add extra stress to a chain.

Our main criticism of the Chorus chain is not of the product itself but of the fact that you need Campag's dedicated - and very expensive - chain tool to remove it (though Pedro's have recently created a cheaper version).
Campag's 11-speed chain is narrower than their 10-speed version (5.5mm compared to 5.9mm), but is actually stronger.
It doesn't have Record's hollow pins, but other than that is identical: nickel PTFE (better known as Teflon) surface for reduced friction and the same redesigned Ultra-Shift outer links. The weight difference over Record? Just 15g.
