The Veloce(TM) crankset adopts the brand new Power Torque System(TM) also used for its "big brother" Centaur(TM).
Top Features of the Campagnolo Veloce 10 Speed Power Torque Compact Chainset
- Forged aluminium cranks
- Chainrings MPS(TM) (Micro Precision Shifting)
- Light-alloy sheared-drawn chainrings with antifriction treatment
- 8 pins on the large chainring
- Integrated POWER-TORQUE(TM) axle
|Bottom Bracket Type:||Power Torque|
The Power Torque System(TM) represents the ideal solution for the new Campagnolo(R) 10s drivetrains: high rigidity of cranks and chainrings along with extremely limited weight, efficient power transmission thanks to optimised "Q" and "U" factors, new chainrings with MPS Micro Precision Shifting(TM) machining of the teeth and new machining on the upward zone of the chain.
All this makes the Veloce(TM) crankset one of the most highly evolved technological solutions, but also one of the most economical, existing on the market.
Your chainset must fit onto your bottom bracket! There are currently four chainset/bottom bracket interfaces that you're likely to come across. If your bottom bracket is made by Shimano and it has splines, then you need an Octalink chainset. If your b/b is NOT made by Shimano and it has splines, it's almost certainly ISIS. There are a very few non-Shimano chainsets with Shimano Octalink interfaces so, to be sure, count the splines - ISIS has 9, Octalink has (surprise, surprise) 8. No matter which brand of b/b you have, if it has a square interface, it will require a traditional square taper chainset. If you have one of the new Hollowtech II systems, you will need to choose the exact chainset that matches your bottom bracket. Most MTB chainsets are now 9-speed compatible but these will work with an 8-speed system.

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Practically the "front of the drivetrain" is pretty tolerant, and there shouldn't be an issue with this.
I had an issue changing the chainrings on another set of these cranks with 39/53T as Campagnolo had done some silly little offset trick to try to stop people doing what I did and that is change the ugly black chainrings to Chorus/Record chainrings.
There doesn't seem to be any specific chainrings for my crankset though the Stronglight Zircal 7075 110mm Campag 9/10 looks ok if the offset issue that I can't describe any better isn't an issue.
Will the chainrings of this Veloce Compact work? Looks a very affordable option.
Also a chainset with a 50/34 instead of 50/39 what is the gear difference is it fast or slower combination
