(review of EL320 front light only)With a single 1watt LED powered by four AA batteries, the EL320 is a simple and compacty unit that offers up a nice balance between enough light to see where you're going and a good amount of visibility. As with lots of LED lights, the brightness at obtuse angles isn't as good as some filament units, and the addition of two little 'peep holes' on the reflector unit does little for sideways light spill(handy for junction and roundabout visibility).
But there's no denying that this is a nice light in terms of a striking balance between seeing and being seen. The mounting is a simple-to-use band that's also at home on wing shaped bars(so long as you have the wing part flat on your bars). As is typical for every Cateye light we've ever tested, it burned way longer than they claimed with nearly 24hours on full power from four fresh AA's. Speaking of batteries there's also a handy pupsh buttion under the unit for removing them, and it is not until you have to change them that you realise how great this simple feature is.
In conclusion...
(review of EL320 front light only)For under £30 this is a fantastic self contained light
