Does what it says on the tin!
Without this product, it would have been very hard to display a rear light after fitting my back rack. This is a neccessity when a back rack is fitted.

a must if you have a rear rack
I just wish Cateye would supply these with their rear lights, its a simple moulding not that expensive and would make a very significant point of difference from the plethora of competitive LED tail-lights out there

Maintained Mounting
One of the great things about a Surly Big Dummy is how much fun they are to ride knowing that you can carry everything you might want or need with you. However, mounting a rear light is problematic because most units are designd to mount to the seat post. For my Cateye LD 1100 I wanted it on the rear of the Big Dummy so that I can carry loads behind the seat post without obscuring the rear light. Hence the carrier mounting.
It is simple. Comes with all the bits you need, including zip ties for racks that are not spaced to fit this, and holds the light well. I had to jury rig a mounting point on the Snapdeck for the Cateye Rear Carrier Mounting and zip tie it on. It held well but my jury-rigged mount feel apart on one side. Lucky for me the mount for the rear light holds the weighty LD-1100 securely or it could have been lost.
For anyone with a rear rack or carrier and a compatible Cateye rear light this is too cheap to pass up and too useful.

Simple but does the job.
This adaptro attaches to the carrier reflector plate, allowing you to fit most Cateye rear LED lights.
It comes with screws and cable ties for attaching to the reflector plate. The former are intended for use with mounting holes 50mm apart, the latter for holes more than 50mm apart. The cable ties are a simple if not particularly elegant solution.
The main advantage of this product is that you can fit a rear LED with BS reflector (e.g. the TL-LD 500) to be seen better and remain road legal.
I've used the product to fit a rear LED to my girlfriend's hybrid as there's nowhere else with a short seatpost and panniers mounted.
Overall, a simple but effective solution to a common problem and one I'm happy to recommend.

It fits fine and there is no problem removing Cateye lights from the Brompton Rear Rack (so long as you have the Rear Rack!).I used it with the Cateye TL-LD1100 LED Rear Light and there has been no problem folding the bike or removing the light. A good combination for the Brompton (and judging by the reviews, far better than Brompton's own rear light).

If your carrier has holes 50 mm apart the supplied self tapping screws go through the carrier into the bracket. Tie wraps are supplied as an alternative way of fixing the bracket.4 months ago

The bracket came with a couple of mounting bolts, so as long as your carrier has a light/reflector mount (usually a strip of metal at the back - look at the pictures of some of the racks on here to see what I mean) at the back of it with pre drilled holes in it at the right spacing, you just thread the bolts though and tighten it up.(It wouldn't fit the vintange carrier on my old tourer as that had a cast rack with only a single mounting hole for a light)

Depending on the width of the fixing holes on your pannier depends on which you use (50mm hole width = screws, any wider = cable ties).Simply hold mount to rack, and either put screws in from the back into the mount or attach with the cable ties. A bit late but...Providing your Cateye light has the standard square retainer clip on the back (I imagine all do - the 3 Cateye lights I've bought all have them) it will fit into the pannier fitting clip.
