About Cycle Computers
Cycle computers help you make the most of your time on the bike and are a great training tool, they have many functions including speed, distance, maximum speed, average speed and some even feature cadence (pedal revolutions). Trying to keep your average speed a bit higher or finish a familiar route in a new record time will give you the inspiration needed to push harder, get fitter and achieve that goal. If you commute on the same route every day, a computer injects a bit of interest. Cordless computers are easier to fit and look neater on the bike, meaning no messy cables to try and tidy up. If you're serious about improving your fitness, a computer with a cadence function will really help and these often read from the rear wheel, allowing them to be used with a turbo trainer.
About the Cateye brand
Cateye is the leading manufacturer of cycle computers, bike lights and reflectors. In 1964, Cateye became the first company to create a flashing lamp for bicycles. Cateye invented the first battery headlamp in 1982, and the very first bicycle headlamp using white LEDs in 2001. Cat Eye is a true leader in lens and reflector technology; Cateye's Opticube lens and reflectors allow them to make one of the brightest and most efficient LED headlights in the world.

Magazine reviews for Cateye Strada Cycle Computer
Review from Cycling Weekly
Catey'e Strada computer is clearly influenced by the sleek, minimalist designs of the newest iPods and mobile phones. It's so thin that if you turn it sideways it almost disappears! Well, almost. The head unit itself weighs just 17g. But the screen is relatively huge, taking up most of the 4x3cm overall area; and the digits are big to match. CatEye's trendy designers have put the mode button, which operates everything, underneath so you press on the computer itself as if you were clicking an Apple mouse...the whole thing mounts without tools and fits any size of bar or stem.
In conclusion...
This computer is just the coolest: it's jsut a shame it's not wireless.
Rating: 8/10
Review from Cycling Plus
The first thing you notice about the Strada is that it appears not to have any buttons. On closer inspection, this isn't the case, as the main mode button is underneath the unit, and pressing the base unit itself squashes this underside button against the mounting . That's a good idea, as it keeps the potential weak-spots for leaks hidden from the elements. After that, you might think this is just like any other small, lightweight computer with the basic functions covered, but you'd be wrong. The installation is tool-free, and the head unit mount can fit bars or stem (can be rotated by 90°) perfectly. It features current, maximum and average speed, trip (two trip modes) and total distance, elapsed time, pace arrows, dual tyre size and auto power-save mode.
In conclusion...
Cracker of a wired computer. Small in size but big in performance.
