No other led light offers the same level of all round visibility as the TL1100.
Cateye's Opticube technology is combined with 10, yes 10, ultra bright red LEDs for unparalleled brightness - incredibly, this light is 80% brighter than the previous king of rear lights, the LD1000.
6 LEDs face backwards and 2 are positioned on each end - each row can be independently controlled through 4 different modes for a total of 16 different combinations.
Almost all bicycle rear lights use LEDs instead of filament bulbs as they are more reliable and use much less battery power, whilst also offering much higher levels of brightness. Used in flashing mode, they are very good at attracting attention from other road users. It's advisable to use at least two rear bike lights, a common configuration is one flashing and one in constant, this is highly advisable just in case one stops or becomes obscured.
Cateye is the leading manufacturer of cycle computers, bike lights and reflectors. In 1964, Cateye became the first company to create a flashing lamp for bicycles. Cateye invented the first battery headlamp in 1982, and the very first bicycle headlamp using white LEDs in 2001. Cat Eye is a true leader in lens and reflector technology; Cateye's Opticube lens and reflectors allow them to make one of the brightest and most efficient LED headlights in the world.
Cateye's big barrel light has the most LEDs, with three powerful diodes in two rear-facing rows and two more at each end.
Each tier also has a separate button to toggle between constant, flash and ripple modes. The all-round visibility is the best here and battery life is over 100 hours on the two AAs supplied. Sealing is good and battery replacement is tool free, but keep checking the bolted clip mount - we lost two LD 1100s due to them falling off loose clamps.
