If using these pads under tape,do you then need to use 2 rolls of tape because of the extra thickness?
Answers
Answer:
I found that you pack them tightly anyway, so you may get away with only one roll if you use them just on the drops. I put a pair on top on the flat part of the bar as well so used two rolls of tape (although there was some left over) so try it.

There are 2 in a set. I now have a spare set as I ordered what I thought was 2 pads and ended up with 4. They are very good pad so will be handy for someone At the price no harm done.

Answer:
No. I used 2 sets of gel pads and a standard roll of bar tape was enough to wrap them and the bars..

Answer:
It is pretty thick with the pads on, I certainly wouldn't use 2 layers of tape as well as these.

Answer:
2 gel pads in a pack, and no need for extra rolls of bar tape in my experience - still had a good 30 cm left that I had to cut off.

Answer:
No, it doesn't add that much to the girth of the bar so no need for extra bar tape. The pads are quite subtle but you do feel the extra padding.

No these must go UNDER the bar tape. They have adhesive to hold them in place before you re-apply the tape.

Answer:
The pads are self advehsive, but you do need to stick them directly to the bars, then tape on top.

1) No. I wouldn't recommend that.
2) Yes, they are self adhesive, but I think you'd need the bar tape over the top of them to hold them in place properly.

Answer:
The underside does have adhesive tape on them and when I first applied them I had to remove them and refit in a different position, so it is sticky but not stuck to the extent of never coming off in one piece.
When you say over the bar tape - I would not recommend that as they would come off.
I bought two packs and fitted one to the drops and the other on the top of my bars but under the tape. Job done.

I did, you need to bend them a bit to get them to follow the curve of the top of the bars. Once the bar taps is on they feel pretty good.

Yup, I used mine on the top of the bars, and they have a self-adhesitve bottom so they do stick on.

I wouldn't say that these are suitable for using on top of the bar tape, they are easy enough to fit beneath the tape. I did both in 5 minutes.

Its that on the tops they seem too long if you dont plan to put them right to the stem or can they go round the curve at the drops if you know what I mean.

Don't cut them the gel will come out.
You can squidge them round the curve on the tops no problem, feels fine under good bar tape.

Answer:
No, from memory they are a single gel unit & I wouldn't advise cutting them. However they are not that big & I found using them on the tops I was able to curve them to the bottom of the hoods.

They contain gel so it would appear that they WOULD leak. Why would you want to cut them anyway?

Answer:
I would route them round the curves, rather than cutting them; if you angle them slightlly towards you where you're likely to be resting your weight, then they will naturally go round the edges on the outside of the first bend.
