MysticRats It is beautiful, once you look past the bling white it is fast, comfortable, when the seat is upgraded, and stands out in the crowd. Quizzical looks by pedestrians but get past those and wow what a bargain. 23 October 2012

Great bike I've had mine since early April and have not long clocked my 1,000th mile on it so thought I would write a review. First of all, my bike came with a 46t, 18t set up and not the 48t advertised so I had to change that as cadence was at around 110rpm at the 20mph area. Otherwise, I love this bike and it's made my commute a much nicer experience. I used to have a Specialized Langster with drop bars and before I bought this bike, I bought some Ritchey drops with new brakes but never fitted them as I really like the 'bullhorns'; they're comfortable (ergonomic) with plenty of space to change positions. When I took the rear wheel to my LBS they told me the wheels will be bullet proof and to be fair, touching wood, they've remained as true as they were on the first day. I have nothing bad to say about this bike but I did change the saddle and stem as the Cinelli stem was very short and as a result of that, I couldn't get my Garmin (800) on it. The unicanter saddle was far from comfortable and the brake calipers are cheap but I only run a front and had an Ultegra which is now on there. Oherwise, this is a great alloy single speed (fixed for me) and better all round compared to my old Langster which I soon sold but didn't plan that as I really liked it and didn't think it would be easy to replace...sadly, it was soon forgotten. p.s. I did the London to Brighton on the Cinelli and it and it got some serious attention which was a nice bonus. 20 August 2012

Yes but not fully fitted traditional ones as there are no mounts and insufficient clearance

Freewheel or fixed?

Does "48t chainring x 18T Freewheel/17T Fix sprocket" mean you have the option of either a freewheel or a fixed?

Basically, I want to know if I can ride backwards on it...

Yes, you can flip back wheel and freewheel or be fixed. As to riding backwards there is a tendnecy to crash, even though it is possible.

I've seen many pics of the actual bike and they all have machined braking surface.

What size of tires does it take?

I see that the Mystic rats comes with 700x23 tyres but can it take wider? 23mm is kinda too narrow for winter rinding

I would not recommend using tyres any larger than 25mm wide.

What size do I need for a replacement chain? Also if I want to get a smaller chain ring or some other freewheels size do I go with 1/8" or 3/32".

Sizing/reach

Would it be wise to go down a size because of the bullhorn bars? I currently ride a 56 secteur sport? Also, can it be fitted with bar end brakes levers?
