Top Features of the Compressport R2 (Race and Recovery) Calf Guard
The Compressport R2 was the number one calf guard worn at the Ironman World Championships in Kona 2010. The Compressport R2 calf guard boosts your venous return, reducing the accumulation of toxins while increasing oxygenation to the muscles.
- Enhanced performance
- The ultra light Compressport fabric is designed for more effective venous return from the feet to the heart, considerably reducing the build up of toxins in the muscles, particularly during prolonged effort
- Muscles benefit from improved oxygenation, helping to reduce the possibility of cramps and injuries
- This allows for longer, higher impact sessions with less fatigue and quicker recovery
- The Compressport fabric also optimises heat exchange and wicks away moisture, helping to regulate your body temperature
- Injury prevention
- The Compressport fabric provides rigidity and support to muscles and is designed to reduce shock waves and vibrations
- This helps to prevent muscle tears, joint pain, contractures, micro-injuries and muscle fatigue
- Enhanced recovery
- After exercise the Compressport R2 continues to accelerate venous return, flushing the toxins from, and increasing oxygenation to, the muscles
- This process reduces the possibility of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness

About Compression Base Layers
Compression base layers enhance performance in training, competing and recovery, and are designed to reduce the quick build up of lactic acid in the muscles, whilst keeping you comfortable and dry during exercise by wicking moisture away from your skin. Body moulded compression garments also improve recovery after periods of sustained exercise and help to regulate your body temperature. Compression baselayers also help prevent muscle oscillation which leads to muscle fatigue and help to minimise muscle soreness.

Unfortunately our sizing isn't going to work for you, based on these measurements. It's important that the guard is sized correctly for the calf, so the T4 is certainly what would you need on that basis, but it is also too long so I'm afraid I can't recommend that you try it.
I'm sorry we couldn't help and I hope you find a suitable compression product for your needs.
Best regards,

Based on a 38cm calf measurement our recommendation is that you go for a T3 if you haven't used compression before as comfort is important, however if you have used compression before and are used to it, go for the T2!

i think you shold go for small as these are designed to be tight to hold mussle, if they are loose you will not get the benefit hope this helps

You should definitely go for the T3 as the calf measurement is the most important, to ensure the appropriate level of compression is delivered to the muscle. If you find that it is a little too long, either because the bottom cuff is quite low on your ankle or the top cuff is tucked up around the back of your knee, you can just fold one or both of them over on the outside. Although they are elasticated there is no compression as such in the cuffs, so it’s fine to do this, it won’t affect the compression in the main body of the guards or affect their performance.
Thanks for your question.

wearing them inside out a couple of times will no doubt see the print come off very quickly anyway.

Based on your measurements we recommend you go for the T2, which will be more compressive than the T3 but still comfortable.

I would like to buy a pair of Compressport R2 (Race and Recovery) Calf Guards but not sure which size to buy. My calf size is 39cm approx. in the largest part, so shall I go for the smallest size T2 or just the T3?
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the T3. If compression is too tight it can be detrimental to blood flow, and it will also be uncomfortable. 39cm's puts you in size T3 and this would be best.
Kind regards

Compressport.
My size is just under 39cm in circumference and 30cm in length.
T2 or T3?
