Top Features of the Compressport US (Ultra Silicone) Calf Guard
The Compressport US calf guard is uniquely enhanced through the integration of a layer of 220 silicon gel buds surrounding the interior of the guard above the ankle.
- Enhanced performance
- The ultra light Compressport fabric is designed for more effective venous return from the feet to the heart, considerably reducing the build up of toxins in the muscles, particularly during prolonged effort
- Muscles benefit from improved oxygenation, helping to reduce the possibility of cramps and injuries
- This allows for longer, higher impact sessions with less fatigue and quicker recovery
- The Compressport fabric also optimises heat exchange and wicks away moisture, helping to regulate your body temperature
- Injury prevention
- The Compressport fabric provides rigidity and support to muscles and is designed to reduce shock waves and vibrations
- This helps to prevent muscle tears, joint pain, contractures, micro-injuries and muscle fatigue
- Enhanced recovery
- After exercise the Compressport US continues to accelerate venous return, flushing the toxins from, and increasing oxygenation to, the muscles
- This process reduces the possibility of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
- Damaged muscles repair quicker meaning you can train and compete on fresher legs
- Quality assurance
- Always striving to bring you the highest quality, Compressport compression products are manufactured exclusively in Europe, using European yarn, on European equipment, by European medical compression specialists
- Mens
- Ladies
This optimises shock-absorption, greatly reduces muscle oscillation and provides increased support to the Achilles tendon. The US calf guard boosts your venous return, reducing the accumulation of toxins while increasing oxygenation to the muscles. The reduction in lactic acid build-up coupled with its shock absorption properties protects you from muscular fatigue and damage.
Compressport compression products are meant for all levels and abilities and are suitable for almost any sport. Train, compete and recover in Compressport.
About Compression Base Layers
Compression base layers enhance performance in training, competing and recovery, and are designed to reduce the quick build up of lactic acid in the muscles, whilst keeping you comfortable and dry during exercise by wicking moisture away from your skin. Body moulded compression garments also improve recovery after periods of sustained exercise and help to regulate your body temperature. Compression baselayers also help prevent muscle oscillation which leads to muscle fatigue and help to minimise muscle soreness.

Magazine reviews for Compressport US (Ultra Silicone) Calf Guard
Review from Athletics Weekly
THE "ultrasilicon" calf guard utilises
muscular compression similar to
other garments with the addition
of 220 silicon spikes surrounding
the ankle. While this may sound a
little uncomfortable, they add to the
support around the lower calf and
achilles tendon and help absorb
muscle vibration. Our tester, who
had previously suffered with achilles
problems and calf cramping, was
particularly impressed with the secure
fit and overall comfort of the guards
and was confident enough to try his
first track session in several months
without any adverse effects.
The quad guard uses the same
silicon spikes as the calf guard and
is primarily aimed at cyclists and
triathletes. Our test athletes again
found these extremely comfortable
and felt they supported the quads
exceptionally well. The runners who
wore them during some hill sessions
were most impressed due to an
added perception of reduced muscle
vibration.
In conclusion...
Voted BEST INNOVATION
Review from 220 Triathlon
Getting the Compressport
guards on was a battle but,
unless you're trying it in transition,
this tends to be a good sign. The
material felt durable and the cuffs
and one-piece tube construction of
the actual guard should mean no
fraying or split seams. Neither the
ankle or below-the-knee cuff were
excessively tight, and the generous
amount of unusually positioned
silicon grippers did a really good job
of holding the guard in place. The fit
was spot on and gave a noticeable
amount of compression without any
discomfort. On the trails, everything
felt perfectly held in place, and
the guards delivered that sense of
compression, support and security
that really makes you feel a stronger
and more confident runner.
There was no slipping or riding up and,
even after a tough hill workout, our
tester's calves felt surprisingly fresh.
In conclusion...
Excellent compression, support,
performance and price.

Hope this helps good luck.
Thanks for your question. Based on your calf circumference we would always suggest a T4 per the sizing chart, however you could make a choice to go for the T3, bearing in mind that it will obviously be more compressive but it should still be comfortable as you are fairly borderline.
Have you used compression before and are you comfortable with it? If yes then there is a stronger argument for trying the T3.
Also bear in mind that the T4 calf guard is a few cm longer so this may affect your decision, depending on the length of your lower leg, although circumference is always most important when determining size as it dictates the level of compression achieved.

Advice go slowly getting back and put heal inserts into your shoes to reduce pressure on achilles and calf muscles that really helps as well.
Good luck hope this info helps.
Thanks for your question. Based on your calf circumferences we'd suggest the T3 as we don't recommend going too tight, and this is the correct size for your wider right calf (and as you return to training your injured left calf muscle may well increase in mass, taking it closer to 38/39cm).
In terms of getting back to training we prefer to steer clear of making recommendations as we're not trained professionals and wouldn't want to say too much, other than take it easy to begin with! The Ultra Silicone calf guards are certainly the product to go for as they will reduce some of the shock and vibration travelling up through the calf muscle as you foot strike, and the silicone helps to protect the achilles.
Hope that helps!
