About Road Race Tyres
These tyres are for racing style bikes that use clincher/hooked rims, these are the most common fitment and hook onto the rim and require an inner tube. There is a wide choice of tyres within this category and the right choice is important. Lighter tyres will accelerate quickly, but will be more prone to punctures so getting a balance is extremely important. If you require a tyre for all round use look for something with puncture protection, an average TPI(Threads Per Inch) and average weight. If you require a fast tyre and speed is the only thing that matters look for a low weight folding tyre with high TPI. If durability is your priority and speed is not so important look towards the puncture resistant tyres and consider going for a wider tyre, these will be less prone to punctures and offer a bit more comfort. For wet road conditions a triple compound or winter tyre is a good choice, these use a softer compound on the cornering surface to maximise grip.
About the Continental brand
More than 100 years experience in the development and production of bicycle tyres has made Continental a unique company within the industry. Continental is the only German bicycle tyre manufacturer to produce its tyres in Germany. Knowing this serves as a mighty incentive to our engineers and everyone else involved in the manufacturing process to constantly strive for further innovations. In our technology and development center in Korbach, we are constantly developing new revolutionary technologies such as the unbeatable Black Chili Compound and the ultimate Vectran™ Breaker anti-puncture technology, both used at the top end of race sport. These technologies demand sophisticated processes to ensure our legendary end-product quality, and these innovations as well as the new “ProTection” and ”RaceSport” technology for MTB tyres, can only be manufactured in our factory in Germany – “Handmade in Germany”. In order to offer the best tyre for any application, we rely equally on dialogue with our professional racers, hobby cyclists and everyday bike riders. This results not only in high-end products for top sports applications such as the new Podium TT or the revolutionary downhill tyre “Der Kaiser”, but also tyres for everyday use like the new innovative combination EcoContact/EcoContact Plus as a companion to the latest e-bike trend. As a global player, Continental also maintains high-tech production facilities outside of Germany, where Continental tyres are produced for you with an equal degree of care and dedication. One thing all Continental bicycle tyres have in common is that they are developed in the technology center in Korbach, Germany, where they also undergo strict inspection. Our heart and soul is behind the phrase “Handmade in Germany”, with all of its products and technologies.

Magazine reviews for Continental Grand Prix 4 Season Fold. Road Tyre (2) and Tubes
Review from Bikeradar
Looking like the Conti Grand Prix 4000 it's based on, the GP 4 Season is has more protection with winter work in mind. It has the same bead-to-bead slash resistance of Continental's Gatorskin, plus two Vectran breaker strips to keep sharps from penetrating the tread.
It's harder to puncture than the racier Michelin Pro 3 or the Gatorskin and rolls a bit quicker than the latter. Conti claims good tread life, and if you can swallow the price it's viable as a winter training tyre. For competition it's more reliable than racy.
In conclusion...
Works as a deluxe winter training tyre or a reliable race tyre

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Will increasing the width of these tyres make any noticeable difference to the ride comfort?
What is the disadvantage of increasing the width? Rolling resistance increased?
Answers
However, if you're seriously compromised on ride harshness, you first need to check that there's enough clearance under the fork crown and rear brake arch on your frame, to accomodate the extra bulk of the larger section tyre. Bear in mind that 5mm radial clearance around the tyre is a minimum safe clearance, to prevent road-chippings & other debris from stopping you - dead.
Do i have to stick to 45 as this is whats on, i would rather go narrow but cant afford new wheels - would these fit and how narrow can i go on the same wheel.
Any help really appreciated - cheers

The GP 4S is a great tyre, but I'm not sure it's available in that section. If so, it's a good choice for handling canal towpaths, NOT deep muddy ruts on Bridleways!
And I want to know its valve length too.
Answers
Nothing fancy, but since the 4 season is best suited to winter training or sportifs with wet conditions and/or road surfaces likely to cause a risk of punctures and is not particularly light, there's not much point putting something lighter than a standard tube inside.
approx 5cm
Many thanks

Just to be clear, is this package 2 tyres and 2 tubes? It isn't completely apparent from the description...

There is two tyres and two tubes.
After reading the reviews I have know idea as to put 23's, 25's or the option of 23-F and 25-R. Why would you have different size tyres on front and rear?? I dont really suffer from a comfort issue as i have quite good bib tights so should i stick with 23's?
I want to purchase sooner rather than later so any help would be appreciated.
Answers
I do the different tyresize trick for my old rigid mountain bike, but that's a whole other box of frogs.
Stick with the same sizes on the road
As for the 23+25 pair I'm not sure what is meant by "Force Attack." I assume that having a larger tyre on the rear would allow more traction giving more power transfer for acceleration (maybe...I don't know.) The other benefit would be the larger rear tyre is good if you use a pannier rack: more tyre = more air = more support for the extra weight.
Being a beginner like me, playing with tyre configurations would be a little unnecessary. I know I'm very happy with the 23s and I don't plan on changing them any time soon.
