The tyre for all year use in and around town in all conditions and soils, providing high comfort, and good puncture protection due to the robust gumwall sidewall and generous rubber tread. The compound uses a high degree of natural rubber which is unusual for a tyre at this price level. This means that the tyre will provide greater wet weather grip making it safer in cornering and under breaking on wet, greasy city streets.
The tread is designed with our unique "Endless Edge"- block design system, as with all Conti's new generation off road MTB tyres featuring five-cornered blocks in variable orientation for effortless, precise steering, safe handling and responsive braking grip.

About MTB Slick Tyres
These road tyres will fit Mountain Bike wheels and are primarily for road and light trail use. They will be faster and grip better than a standard ‘knobbly’ styled cross country tyre on road. These tyres work by putting a large area of grippy rubber in contact with the road so they only need a minimal tread pattern. This semi-slick design reduces rolling resistance and improves both speed and safety. Sharp objects like thorns and glass are likely to work their way through your tyres and cause punctures so choose a model with built-in puncture protection. After all, you will want to get home from work or morning ride on time... especially if it's raining! Kevlar shielding as found in the Schwalbe tyre range is a common choice and works well at reducing the amount of punctures. Some Continental tyres even come with a 1 year anti puncture guarantee and use a Kevlar and Polyamide filaments to form a protective belt under the tread.
About the Continental brand
More than 100 years experience in the development and production of bicycle tyres has made Continental a unique company within the industry. Continental is the only German bicycle tyre manufacturer to produce its tyres in Germany. Knowing this serves as a mighty incentive to our engineers and everyone else involved in the manufacturing process to constantly strive for further innovations. In our technology and development center in Korbach, we are constantly developing new revolutionary technologies such as the unbeatable Black Chili compound and the ultimate Vectran™ breaker anti-puncture technology, both used at the top end of race sport. These technologies demand sophisticated processes to ensure our legendary end-product quality, and these innovations as well as the new Protection and RaceSport technology for MTB tyres, can only be manufactured in our factory in Germany – “Handmade in Germany”. In order to offer the best tyre for any application, we rely equally on dialogue with our professional racers, hobby cyclists and everyday bike riders. This results not only in high-end products for top sports applications such as the new Podium TT or the revolutionary downhill tyre “Der Kaiser”, but also tyres for everyday use like the new innovative combination EcoContact/EcoContactPlus as a companion to the latest e-bike trend. As a global player, Continental also maintains high-tech production facilities outside of Germany, where Continental tyres are produced for you with an equal degree of care and dedication. One thing all Continental bicycle tyres have in common is that they are developed in the technology center in Korbach, Germany, where they also undergo strict inspection. Our heart and soul is behind the phrase “Handmade in Germany”, with all of its products and technologies.

Magazine reviews for Continental Traffic II Urban City MTB Tyre
Review from What MTB
The Conti Traffic is a tyre that is specifically aimed at MTBers that want an easy rolling road tyre but don't like the skinny strip down look of the 1 inchers. It's a loud and proud 2.1 inch tyre and on close inspection looks like a fairly capable dry weather off-roader, with a tread pattern based on the successful Vertical Protection. So if you mainly ride road but don't mind exploring the odd trail, look at the Traffic.
In conclusion...
Capable dry off road tyre with the rolling style of a heavy slick.
