In conclusion...
If you want a clippless pedal that'll engage, whatever you've just trodden in - we've had no trouble in clay, grit, snow or ice - then you have to go to work on an Eggbeater. A multitude of platform options (from naked original to Mallet Flattie), colours and hyper expensive but comically light titanium versions means there's an egg for everyone too.
