Simple products are often the best - and Crud Catchers are a perfect example of that. For 2009, 'son of Crud' Jamie Tomkins has vastly improved on what was already an effective design.
The new Crud Catcher front mudguard (£8.99) is wider than before, longer and features a deformable rubber nose to allow for fork contact. It also has a rubber frame pad which aids positioning on down tubes with odd bosses.
The Crud Guard rear mudguard (£15.99) has a new seamless appearance thanks to hours of redesigning. A single aluminium bolt secures it to the seatpost and the mounting arm neatly clips into place. It's so simple, and looks so neat that it makes everything else look a tad Heath Robinson.
In conclusion...
A blindingly simple bit of kit - essential for true trail hackers
