Superb trainer
This worked straight out of the box. Reading the instructions confused me more than necessary - would have been quicker just to get on and set up with guesswork. Set up fitted the bike with very little adjustment so made life very easy. Is fairly quiet but could not be said to be silent. Is the first turbo I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to. The DVD it came with made life a little less boring for the first 10 sessions but then became a bit dull. Nothing compares to being out on the open road. Serves its purpose over the winter however so i would recommend.

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Turbo Trainer
This is the first Turbo Trainer I have purchased. Assembly was easy, and after a couple of days of minor adjustments the set up was perfect. I use it on a regular basis (every other day) and I have improved my level of fitness by 10 to 15% over the last month.
I tried other products before this purchase and would consider it best in class for cost and quality.

Excellent - but
Great product but tensioning bolt sheared after 3 months (bought in July so hardly used yet)
Pretty miffed about the quality.

Good, but with reservations
Not a bad bit of kit, solid, sturdy and well built. However, the adjustment is a bit of a non starter, not that you can not get it done, but it is so hit and miss, but once you get it sorted it performs well, and since I bought this a few weeks ago, I have done almost a five hundred miles on it and it steel feels solid. The trainer has become a bit of a serious training aid in our house as my wife now uses it if we can not get out or get to the gym. Overall not a bad bit of kit

Great turbo trainer
This is my first turbo trainer and i am very happy with it.
The trainer is easy to setup, isn't that loud and the resistance changes well with a very smooth ride.

Excellent Turbo Trainer
This is a serious bit of kit! Takes two minutes to set up straight out of the box. Silky smooth with a real road feel. Folds up eay and doesn't take up much room when not in use. Much much quieter than Turbo Trainers of old!

Exactly what I needed
This product is VERY simple to set up and works perfectly with absolutely minimal effort, all I do is get on and ride!!!.
I was concerned about the lack of adjustability in resistance as I was particularly looking to increase levels of strength and fitness. However, in conjucntion with a Heart Rate Monitor I have had no problems with developing simple interval training regimes which simply rely on higher resistance at higher speeds. I have also found it very good for longer distance endurance work.
Everything I need.
2 months in, great piece of kit, really looking forward to the new season!!!!.

Cyclops Turbo Trainer
Does what it says on the tin ... no complaints whatsoever.
Just what you need for a rainy night.

Good piece of kit
Very easy to assemble. Should be able to be up and running in 15 minutes.
Appears robust and well built but only time will tell.
Wirring sound when you get going but doesn't get too loud. I watch TV when I'm training and don't have to put sound up too loud.
I wish it came with a power meter and a manual with some professional hints and tips. That wouldn't cost much to add. I concur with another review that they should include a climbing block. I have an old CatEye that I use to monitor speed and then reference the very noddy chart they provide to work out power output.

quiet trainer
its quiet enough to wear headphones and not hear it too much. neighbours next door and downstairs didn't complain. offers good resistance

Solid trainer
Upgraded to this trainer from a basic mag trainer. Enormous difference - much greater resistance, so you have to use the gears more to adjust the difficulty. It's also quieter too. Took quite a bit of fiddling to get it set up correctly. I tend to leave my old training bike attached to the trainer. If I was swapping bikes in and out it could be a bit of a pain. The instructions are quite detailed but didn't really help me in setting it up.
Overall a very solid product which should last for years

Exceeds expectations
I'd been looking for a good indoor trainer for about 6 months and read many reviews before deciding to go with the Jet Fluid. It doesn't disappoint. Provides an excellent amount of resistance and is quiet enough to use in the morning when others in the house are asleep. Easy to set up and comes with a skewer. I would highly recommend this trainer, particularly if you're after a good level of resistance.

No nonsense quality
Having resisted buying a turbo on principle I was sceptical about spending such a large amount of cash on something like this. Have to say though that worry has been put to bed, this is a seriously handy bit of kit.
The continuity of resistance seems to suit me very well, I like that fact I can use my gears as I do on the road and not have to fiddle about with knobs and levels like other turbos.
Build quality is good and although it's too early to tell I reckon it'll last a good few years.
Only downsides are it's weight and size making it more difficult to transport to races/TT's etc and I found the release level on the turbo unit a little stiff to use(probably be ok if I grease it a little)

The Trainer To Own
Right out of the box , this trainer exudes quality in its looks, construction and finish. Straightforward to set up, it functions beautifully and the quality of the training workout is simply superb. Looked at all options before purchase and am absolutely delighted with this choice.

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Tubo Trainer
Easy to use. Only takes a few minutes to set up and you are away.
The noise it makes is not a problem, and quieter than a busy road, the bike gear change and pedal load are as it would be if you were riding.
The higher levels of resistance does require and resonable cadence, but thats fine, I haven't yet cycled out of the saddle for any period but again i don'r expect any problems.
Over all I'm pleased with the simplicity and ease of use. It folds away as well, so easy to store out of the way when not in use.

Excellent Build quality
I bought this last winter but a combination of travelling and getting out on the road meant I only used it a few times. This winter I have used it fairly extensively over the past few weeks.
The build quality is excellent and its very solid. Getting it level is easy with the extendible leg and connecting the bike is simple and very secure. The reason I went for this is because of the feel of the ride, it is very close to road conditions and resistant is increased as you pedal so no cables or anything needed to adjust it.
Noise wise its probably on par with other trainers, I use headphones as I have wooden floors and it can get noisy.
Fantastic piece of kit which I think will last me for a good few years.

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Turbo Trainer with DVD
I have never owned a turbo trainer and have used one once, briefly.
Bought this one based on reviews on this site and the fact that the other trainer I rode was a Cycleops trainer.
The trainer arrived in good condition and was easy to unpack from the box. It took all of 3 minutes to get the trainer ready and another 5 mins to swap the rear spindle on my bike's quick release.
Since fitting the bike I haven't had to adjust anything in over 350 miles of riding. I am fortunate to have a spare road bike so have matched this old bike to the trainer and my wife and I use the same bike, we bought a quick release seat post clamp to make it easier to swap between us. I resurrected an old bike computer to provide the much needed stats. I'd love to have the comuter version but couldn't justify the cost for my benefit, so instead settled for a spreadsheet on my pc to track my performance over time. I just write up the values from each session from my old bike computer, its good enough for my level.
It isn’t silent, but makes a somewhat comforting whine/hum in use, nothing to worry about, I use it in a converted loft and it doesn’t bother the kids underneath. It does get a bit noisy when you stand up out of the saddle and really go for it, but I’m sure they all do when you go flat out.
I use it with the cycleops front wheel support and feels solid underfoot and gives me the confidence to really ride like out on the road, and I am 17 stone.
I’d recommend this to anyone, having a trainer at home has allowed us to ride any time of day and also in any weather. We have bought this instead of paying for gym membership and so far it has been a great decision as we can pop on it for a quick session in the time it would have taken to get ready and travel to the gym and back!
The unit itself is sturdy, easy to use and easy to clean.
Buy one, and enjoy!

Great bit of kit!
I have been training on this Turbo for just over a month and I am very pleased with it.
Very easy to set up and take down, quiet and smooth, I was advised to buy this model by a friend and it does all he stated and more.
If you want a Turbo Trainer that feels like riding on the road this is the one for you.

Well built but Noisey
Build quality is excellent, but noise levels are much higher than I expected.
I borrowed my friend's Tacx Flow before buying this turbo. The Tacx was quiet in comparison to this, though not built quite so well.
There is no way you could use this turbo without keeping someone awake who is trying to sleep upstairs. You also have to have the TV volume up very loud if you want to watch something while you pedal.
In hindsight I would have bought the Tacx instead, as although it is not quite as nicely made, it is ten times quieter. And this CycleOps fluid turbo is meant to be their quietest model! Not impressed.

Met My Expectations
I purchased the CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro turbo trainer (+ DVD) to use for winter interval training when the roads and weather were just too foreboding.
As a previous owner of an old Tacx 'One' magnetic resistance trainer, I immediately noticed the weight of this new rig, particularly the redesigned fluid resistance unit. It's sturdily built with a compact though weighty resistance unit. I was looking for a bullet-proof rig for big efforts, and this fits the bill.
What I like: 1) the lockable folding legs; 2) the levelling mechanism in the foot (a well thought-out detail); 3) the reliable skewer/stand locking mechanism which works; 4) the 'feel' of the fluid unit – it intuitively feels smoother and more road-like than my (admittedly old) mag trainer; 5) it arrived almost ready assembled - some trainers are self-assembly jobs which isn't acceptable for kit of this cost.
What I dislike - 1) Cyclops still haven't got the ratchet mechanism quite right. It can be a hassle to get the resistance unit pressed up against the tyre just right. Don’t get me wrong, it obviously works, but if I must be critical then I feel this could still be bettered. 2) Minor point: it could be quieter, but this wasn't high on my priority list – buy a magnetic resistance turbo if you want quiet. 3) At this price a riser-block for the front wheel bundled-in would have been a welcome extra (it’s a cheap plastic mould – c’mon Cyclops!).
In a nut shell: it's the resistance unit that set's this model apart - sturdy, solid, nicely enclosed, well-engineered and with a lovely feel to it when spun up hard.
Extras: the DVD that came with my package was also entertaining: a ride-along film of a US crit race with good commentary. It’s actually one of the better “interactive” training DVDs that I’ve seen. The turbo-skewer works well with the turbo's locking mechanism which is a vast improvement on the old Tacx designs. Crucially, I'm no longer concerned that the bike might rock itself out of the stand and send me head first into the wall. Phew!

CycleOps Jet Fuid Trainer
It had a very good write up i Cycling Plus and deservedly so. Five seconds to set up out of the box and another ten to fit the bike in. Simple. Niuce smooth transition as you try to go "faster" and rock steady - I used it on the little-bit-pricey-but-does-the-job-really-well CycleOps mat. Quiet enough to hear the play on the radio at the same time. Harder work than out on the road 'cos there's no downhill to coast down!

High quality trainer, very durable, good resistance curve and the price reflects this.

This turbo is so quiet I can use it when my wife's asleep without disturbing her. It's very quick and easy to set up and the resistance range is sufficient to provide a good workout. With all the snow and ice we've had it's been invaluable in allowing me to train through the winter.

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro
This was a horrific experience, I had been using my mate's old Tacx Swing and encouraged to upgrade to this by great reviews in cycling mags but it sounded Like I'd started up a motorbike rather than a super smooth, quiet turbo ! Wiggle were gr8 at arranging collection for return but part with your cash at your peril.

Excellent winter partner
takes away the need for a winter bike as I now use it indoor and love it. great performer. very quite and reasonably road like feel. sturdy bomb proof built and can be used straight from the box. would recommend.

over rated quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok lets get one thing straight, I chose this unit based on how others had rated the quality and to be honest I am pretty disgusted at what I have in front of me for what I have forked out! the frame is a bent piece of tube with the most awful weld on the underside I have ever seen, a watery pigeon poo describes it rather well. Finish is decidedly average and poor for the cost, the roller locking mechanism feels like it will break and is pretty awkward, this is definately not worth the money they are asking, glad I didnt pay full whack!!!
I havent had a chance to really give the unit a good thrashing yet so maybe the performance will tip the scales the other way, but first impressions are not too good. Oh and tha after thought locking pins is awful too, its like they couldnt be botherd to do it properly. Im an engineer by trade so maybe Im picking on the construction a bit but hey thats what reviews are for........and its my personal honest opinion!!

Good trainer
The Protrainer was easy to set up but benefitted from a front wheel raiser. Also needed is a fan - I didn't realise I could sweat this much. Really inspiring DVD to keep your interest up. May be quieter than others but my first one so nothing to compare to. I have put subtitles on dvd's of films to watch whilst training. Feels similar to on road cycling

Perfect winter trainer
A great looking turbo trainer that gives a real roadlike feel. It's so easy to setup and store away and is ideal for when I get home late from work and don't fancy riding in the dark. This will really get me ready for next years sportives!

Stable, Quiet and variable.
For several years I've been training on a Fortius i-Magic and that was fine while I was single. Now, however, the fuss of setting up the PC, the TV and the turbo in the lounge is not as practical as it used to be.
This is a great alternative to the i-Magic. Ok so it's a "dumb" trainer but it's got one of the best resistance curves I've come across and it's silky smooth in use.
The frame is solidly constructed, small when collapsed and easy to set up, with a single leg providing all the levelling you will need. Roller pressure is easy to adjust and apply thanks to a nice big lever.
The locking mechanism for the weel works well, with a nicely designed QR. A few twists of a large, hand-friendly nut gets the bike firmly locked. A gripe here is that nobody seems to sell spare QRs so if you want to use more than one bike you may end up swapping the skewer between them.
In use this is one of the quietest and most stable trainers that I've used. It's now possible to actually hear the TV as well as watch the pictures... A simple plastic duct forces air ofer the radiator fins of the resistance unit to keep it at as reasonable a temperature as possible, to provide even resistance. It works well, with the unit getting warm but not too hot to touch (at least not at my riding pace so far). The resistance is wonderfully progressive and feels very natural.
All things considered, an excellent trainer.

Does this come with the Race Day training DVD? And does this turbo fit a 12 speed racing bike?
In the PDF manual on http://www.saris.com/pdfManuals/356.pdf it mentions it comes with a Race Day DVD which also comes with the Fluid 2. But there is no mention of this in your advert.
And also I have a 12 speed racing bike and would like to know if this turbo will fit it? I guess what I am asking is if there will be a problem because the axel width is different from a 9 ring rear chainset.

Yes it comes with the DVD although I haven't used it, I tend to put the laptop infront of me and watch movies on SkyPlayer! The axle width is not a problem as the 'throat' for the spindle is adjustable to take up a variety of thicknesses.
