A complete power solution. Versatile enough to do it all.
You’re a dedicated cyclist. Whether the bike makes up your entire race or only one part of it, you demand the most out of your equipment. You put a lot of time, effort and passion into your sport, and your equipment should deliver no less than what you put in.
With varying courses and wind conditions, different rider types, different brands and a plethora of statistics, graphs, opinions and reviews to muddy the water; Cycleops understand there are a lot of different considerations in choosing the right equipment period, so they like to make the decision on which wheelset to compliment your training a whole lot easier.
By analyzing and selecting the best components available, CycleOps created a complete line-up of unique PowerTap training and racing wheelsets, offered directly from CycleOps. Whether you’re thinking about a solid set of alloy training clinchers or a mid or deep-section carbon clincher or tubular wheelset; they have you covered.
CycleOps Alloy Wheels: CycleOps has years of experience and, following some extremely vigorous testing, they have designed the ultimate combination of durability and precision power measurement with our hand-built, alloy G3 and Pro training wheels. With a rim width of 23mm and using DT Swiss spokes, you’ll have a steadfast, comfortable ride to rival that offered by a tubular wheel.
Cycleops are world famous for producing high quality cycle trainers. However, the company origins weren’t in cycling, believe it or not they started with producing curtain rods! The story goes that the Graber brothers sold their window products company and needed something to do. They experimented in their garage and came up with a best-selling bike rack. In 1989, Chris and Sara Fortune purchased the company when it was selling 80,000 bike racks a year. In 1990, a high-end brand of bike rack was launched, branded as “Saris.” Today Saris is a leading supplier to the bicycle industry in over 30 countries. The company expanded in 1999 by acquiring the Cycleops brand of bike trainer. As usual they set out to improve on the design and by 2001 they created a new trainer frame and in 2002 they launched the world’s first progressive resistance Cycleops magnetic trainer. It was in 2001 that they heard about a hub that could measure power output and they jumped at the chance to bring this product to cyclists. They bought the company that invented Powertap and started a new round of Cycleops cycling innovations.
