Magazine reviews for Cyclus Headset Press
Review from Cycling Plus
Poor fitting can wreck a headset and this offering from Cyclus is an excellent budget headset tool for the serious home mechanic...i never had qualms about its accuracy...rubber coated handlesoffer increased comfort and grip...use it to fit a couple of headsets and your investment will be recouped.
A solid, dependable tool, nice to use and even better on the wallet.
Review from Singletrack
This tool makes squeezing a headset into a frame much less of a sketchy and noisy affair than whacking it in with a bit of wood and a mallet - which is also not a good idea if you're installing a headset into an expensive frame with a delicate headtube as it's all too easy to deform it permanently. We've used this on the last few frame builds we've had to do and it's behaved pretty much flawlessly each time. The bearing race at the top and the 'stting handle' at teh bottom enabled us to be all nerdy and get our headset logos exactly where we wanted them to end up. Which was nice.
If you can excuse having a headset press on your workbench then this is a well priced decent option.

CK headsets are precision engineered and most have an aluminium cup...not a good idea to damage it.
At its absolute limits of use with an average headset it'll do nearly 30cm. Even if you've got a super skinny headset cup it'll still do 26cm.
Just popped into me garage and measured it and everything.
I think the answer is it's possibly just manageable depending on the diameter of your headset cups...
A little bit clunky, but not bad at this price - Park Tool's offering has a some what eye watering price tag!
Art.-Nr.: 720181 1 1/2?
The bike i've got is BB30 and asymmetric 1 1/8". I've the park BB30 tool so wondering if they could be used in conjunction with this.
the headset i need to install has the following info about it on its web site:
Headset > Tapered Integrated
1.5" Head Tube Reduced To 1-1/8 Fork Tube Threadless Headset
1-1/8" x 52 x 39.8
will i need anything in addition to this press (adapters) to install the above described headset?
thx in advance
