The transponder itself is only the size of a grain of rice, youy have to stick it somewhere on your bike, somewhere really hard to get to, if possible the inside of one of the main tubes of the frame is best. They provide you with some adhesive to keep your rice in place...the other good thing is that certain insurance companies will offer you lower insurance if your bike is fitted with the DataTag system, that might be worth the set-up cost in itself.
In conclusion...
If you want any chance of getting your actual bike back then DataTag is definitely going to help you out.
