This frameset (Frame and forks) comes without a Integrated Seat Post (ISP) and is also available in 7 sizes. De Rosa lauched this frame last year and due to its big success they have decided to keep it for the 2012 collection.
Its success is due to its aeroelastic performance that provides excellent results in terms of resistance to fatigue. The “Merak” project is based on carbon fibre carefully selected with other composite materials to lead to the creation and use of a fibre mix in which their various features are combined, aimed at enhancing the mechanical characteristics and consequently the performance of the frame.
Moreover, the “High Moment Inertial Tafer” steering tube makes it possible to use steering with 1.1/2 bearings and relative “oversize” fork designed for it.

Road frames have come a long way in recent years with new advancements in technology and materials. Carbon fibre, aluminium and titanium are all widely used now as well as the more traditional steel tubesets. They all have their own advantages: aluminium offers good performance at a reasonable price, titanium offers ultimate performance at a premium price while carbon fibre offers superb comfort and performance at intermediate cost. It is not uncommon for the materials to be mixed to give the benefits of all the materials in one frame - a carbon fibre rear end on an aluminium frame, for example.
