Does what it says on the tin This seems to work well—I've gone from about one chain drop per week to none since installing six months ago. Obviously it won't fit some frames, but went onto the slightly oval seat tube on my alu frame fine. 30 October 2012

Does the job and then some Simplicity to fit low down by the crank. It will certainly prevent the chain coming off. But then, I had to adjust the front derailleurs on a relatively new MTB which had slipped so far out of line it was chronic! Now the gears are set correct this Dog Fang will be a safety feature rather than a necessary item. Unobtrusive on the frame and almost unnoticeable, it's so light you won't notice it! Only available in black, so unless you're colour-picky black is good. 20 September 2012

dog fang catches chain The dog fang seems like a good idea, i fitted it to protect my new frame from possible paint damage if the chain comes of the chainwheel. The chain has not come off yet but the dog fang will certainly catch the chain . 03 September 2012

small and simple installation Easy to install. Effectivity has yet to be demonstarted though. Due to it's small size it is hard to notice that it is on the bike, good! There were no installation manual included in the shipment. Therefore it leaves you to guess the best installation height. Thtat is the main reason for 4 out of 5 stars 11 August 2012

Answer:

Only you can answer this, you need to take the diam.of the tube where the fang will be placed, callipers or if you know how to use a micrometer will supply the info. But beware that with a triple you are very near the b/bracket & any size increase / slope in the seat tube in this area may make fitting not poss. This applies to c/f frames more so .

Just measure the diameter of the seatpost parallel with the top of the inner chainring, then buy the smallest size larger than or equal to that measurement.
