A waterproof membrane keeps the wet out while the extended cuffs slide over your winter training jacket or jersey, helping to keep the rain and cold at bay. Inside features a thermal fleece lining which provides enough protection on colder days without being bulky, this makes operating computers, GPS's or HRM's possible.
A leatherette palm has been chosen to provide you with enough padding to absorb the vibrations on rougher roads, but with enough freedom of movement to give you a positive grip on the bars. Silicone finger grips give you a firm connection to the brake levers, while reflective piping and logo's offer an additional level of safety.
About Winter Gloves
Winter cycling gloves are designed to keep your hands warm, windproof gloves are especially good at this as they stop the winds chill from reaching your fingers. Many models incorporate a waterproof membrane to prevent the insulation layer getting wet, this is important as water carries the cold quickly. They are shaped so they're comfortable in the usual riding position and the fingers are usually pre-curved. If your riding position puts a lot of weight on your hands, choose gloves with padded palms, some even feature gel inserts for additional comfort and shock absorption. Alternatively, wear your summer cycling gloves underneath a slightly larger pair of insulated winter gloves.

Magazine reviews for dhb Amberley Glove 2010
Review from Cycling Weekly
Designed as a waterproof glove, the Amberley keeps the water out in all but the most severe conditions, but thanks to the excellent thermal fleece lining my hands never once got cold. The thick, long glove easily cover jacket cuffs and certainly help to keep your hands warm. Finger grips give good grid and a soft pad on the thumb gives a decent place to wipe your nose. Reflective piping adds a nice safety touch.
In conclusion...
An impressive glove, especially at this price, it is waterproof enough and great for keeping your hands warm in the wettest of conditions.

Review from road.cc
Designed as a waterproof winter road glove, Dhb's Amberley is more accurately described as very water resistant but continues the brand's just reputation for great value, nicely designed clothing that pretty much does just what it says on the tin. Mountain bikers, off season crossers and rough stuff tourists fond of more extreme conditions will want improved waterproofing but nonetheless, the Amberley offer great protection without compromised dexterity.
There's nothing particularly fancy about the Polyester/Nylon mix but the fit is spot on and is on par with more boutique brands. Crucial to the designs success are the waterproof membrane and extended cuffs that slide perfectly over those of a winter training jacket or jersey, keeping rain and chill firmly at bay. The slim-line thermal fleece lining provides a tactile, yet temperate inner climate that doesn't bunch up or feel clammy during prolonged efforts in milder weather. Dexterity is pretty good too, allowing computers, lights and quick roadside adjustments to be completed without their removal, which can make all the difference on cold rides.
Leatherette palms look Spartan alongside the latest generation of Ulnar defending gel sections but to their credit, provide good damping from road vibration even with common or garden glossy bar wraps. These can be notoriously slippery in the wet but silicone reflective chevrons on the middle and index fingers inspire confidence-especially braking or changing gear.
Made from a reflective Scotchlite material means they're great for acknowledging other riders and courteous drivers too. So to the water-repellence, well the material keeps even driving rain out for a couple of hours but rescuing an ejected bottle from a river saw them waterlogged in forty seconds flat. However, the long terry thumb wipe is perfect for runny noses and reflective detailing provides some welcome night time security, especially when signalling.
Tell us how the product performed overall when used for its designed purpose:There's no doubt the Amberley does most things very well, although it is better described as water-resistant rather than waterproof. However, this is only a consideration in the foulest of conditions. Dexterity and comfort are excellent with long cuffs sliding over jersey/training jackets keeping the elements firmly at bay.
Tell us what you particularly liked about the product: Great fit, dexterity, comfort and styling.

Review from Bikeradar
Said of the 2009 model....This glove is constructed on a tight budget, but that doesn't stop it from looking or performing better than its price suggests. Fit is great, with a good finger shape and length. The DHBs are feature-rich given the price tag, with thin palm padding, rubberised grippers and a dash of reflective material on the back. They did a great job of keeping our hands warm on the most wintry of rides, even if they got soggy faster than more expensive offerings. They're ideal if you go on occasional cold weather rides only, and you'd rather save the pennies.
In conclusion...
A great fitting glove with good insulation and plenty of features for the price
