Top Features of the dhb C1.0 Commuter/Touring Cycling Shoe
Whether you are pounding across town on your daily commute and need a shoe for both cycling and walking or your using the shoe for weekend touring, the C1.0 is an incredibly robust shoe, which benefits from shock absorbing, high traction Vibram sole.
- Vibram cross-terrain sole
- Lace-up closure
- 360 degree reflective detailing
- 2-hole cleat ready
- Mens
- Ladies
- Road
- Cleats - 2 Bolt SPD Type
- Sole Material: Vibram Rubber
- Use: Touring
The C1.0 has a synthetic upper which use the quad core mesh for power transfer and super tough Rock Rubber heel and toe reinforcement panels to resist abrasion and knocks from harsh terrain.
Adjustment is kept simple with a conventional lace up system; this allows you to easily adjust the fitting of the shoe to achieve the correct balance between comfort and tightness for best power transfer. After tying the laces securely, they should be threaded through the elastic lace keeper, to keep them safely out of the way of your bicycle drive train.
The aggressive tread pattern on the Vibram sole will provide ample traction on off road terrains as well as being sticky on smooth asphalt. The stiffness of the sole has been engineered to achieve a balance of comfort when walking and delivering power from each stroke inputted whilst riding the bike.
Reflective detailing across the upper in all views increases the rider’s road visibility to other road users. On the side walls there are mesh inserts to help keep the temperature regulated, allowing hot air to escape and cooler air to flow in.
The shoe comes with a rubber insert bung, which completes the tread design and can be used to cover the cleat slots. The sole is drilled with twin slots and is ready to use with MTB-style, 2-hole cleat-pedal systems (SPD, Crank Bros, Time MTB)
About Road Shoes
Road racing cycling shoes are designed without compromise to provide optimum power transfer between your foot and the pedal, a good quality road cycling shoe is a wise investment for performance and weight saving and is often overlooked. High-tech materials and precision manufacture keep weight down and stiffness up, this means your rotational mass is lower and power transfer is higher, resulting in more forward momentum for your effort.

Magazine reviews for dhb C1.0 Commuter/Touring Cycling Shoe
Review from Bikeradar
Supplied by Wiggle, these shoes are super-versatile and a bargain, especially if you want to stay lower-key in the pub after your ride.
As you'd expect for casually styled shoes, the soles are stiff enough to pedal hard and long without flexing and flopping around or causing a hot spot over the cleat. In fact, they're flexible enough to spend a fair amount of time walking without them becoming wearing or feeling too clompy. The chunky, soft-compound Vibram soles give excellent off-bike/off-piste grip.
Fit is quite long for the size, but generous in width too, so you might want to size down compared to your normal shoe fit. If not you'll have plenty of room for fatter socks in winter, and the solid wraparound toe bumpers and splash-proof uppers give more protection than most shoes on showery/puddly days.
Thanks to lace-only closures and reflective details restricted to flashes on the uppers and heel cups, the DHBs are one of the least conspicuously cycle related shoes you'll find.
The mix of fabric loops and plastic eyelets mean the laces generally stay tight for extended riding periods, although there's no cunning stash to keep the loose ends out of your chainrings. Contrast stitching and webbing detail is in the currently-very-fashionable lime green.
In conclusion...
Relatively high heel cuffs give a secure fit and protected feel with minimal heel lift when walking or riding. They're no heavier than most other trail shoes and at £50 they're an absolute bargain.
Rating: 4.5/5

The inserts in the black detailing on the sides, the entire tongue, and the collar around the back, are all mesh fabric.
So, they're better in the rain than typical all-vent-with-a-few-structural-panels cycling shoes, but they're not gumboots.
Of course, they have cleat mounting holes underneath too, so if you stand in a puddle for long enough, you'll experience rising damp. Gaffer tape over the holes on the inside, under the insole, will help with that.
Be sure to take a change of socks in your commute bag :-)
