Top Features of the dhb Neoprene Glove
dhb Neoprene glove for cold wet weather use.
- Neoprene fabric is warm in wet weather
- Adjustable Velcro cuff
- Stretch fabric for close fit
- Reflective detailing
- Reinforced palm
Neoprene fabric is a closed cell foam, which traps thousands of insulating gas bubbles. In dry, cold weather, this glove will trap the warm air generated by your hand and keep you very warm.
Neoprene fabric is water resistant. In cold wet weather the glove will work in the same way as a surf wet suit; as long as your hands are generating warmth, the glove will trap a tiny layer of water against the skin and warm it up. Unlike other lightweight materials – (e.g. a lofted synthetic down-replacements) neoprene does not loose its thermal insulating properties when damp and wet. The snug fitting, stretch material ensures that the fitting stays close (not baggy) so dexterity is maintained allowing the rider maximum control of the bike even in ugly conditions.
The glove features reflective detailing in strategic areas to reflect light from oncoming cars, providing improved road visibility. The palm has a micro PU reinforcement cover to give abrasion resistance against the bars, which prolongs the life of the glove and improves grip.
A broad 4cm cuff, with adjustable closure allows the wearer to fasten the glove over or under their outer garment (jersey or jacket) depending on personal preference. This helps to prevent drafts from creeping up the forearm.
About Winter Gloves
Winter cycling gloves are designed to keep your hands warm, windproof gloves are especially good at this as they stop the winds chill from reaching your fingers. Many models incorporate a waterproof membrane to prevent the insulation layer getting wet, this is important as water carries the cold quickly. They are shaped so they're comfortable in the usual riding position and the fingers are usually pre-curved. If your riding position puts a lot of weight on your hands, choose gloves with padded palms, some even feature gel inserts for additional comfort and shock absorption. Alternatively, wear your summer cycling gloves underneath a slightly larger pair of insulated winter gloves.
About the dhb brand
The dhb brand was first born in Hampshire, England. The founders – d, h and b decided they didn’t want to just sell bicycle gear but they also wanted to be involved with every aspect of it’s design and development. Five years later, with international expansion all products are still ridden extensively by the in-house R&D team in the local South Downs region.
