About Offroad Shoes
MTB Cycling shoes have stiffer soles than an everyday shoe, like a trainer for instance, this means that they transfer more power to the pedals each time you push down. By improving this connection between your foot and the pedal, you can ride longer due to more efficiency and with more comfort. Higher level shoes will have 3 straps on the upper which make them very adjustable and can improve comfort further. Mountain bike shoes have a knobbly grippy sole so you can dismount and run with the bike off road when needed, or walk for small periods if popping to the shops. They are a true all round shoe that can be used for off road, road, touring and commuting.
About the dhb brand
The dhb brand was first born in Hampshire, England. The founders – d, h and b decided they didn’t want to just sell bicycle gear but they also wanted to be involved with every aspect of it’s design and development. Five years later, with international expansion all products are still ridden extensively by the in-house R&D team in the local South Downs region. Getting out and riding is the core philosophy of the dhb brand. We want people to be outside riding doing what they love most. The dhb range of cycling apparel and accessories aims to engage all levels of rider - from novice, to triathlete and competitive sportive rider. We have worked with skilled technicians and factories across the globe to bring ‘our’ kit to ‘you’ - the enthusiast. dhb has experienced phenomenal success in the United Kingdom, and over the past years our reach has extended through Europe to fellow riders in Japan and Australia. The new branding for dhb is a turning point marking our increasing energy for our brand. With more cyclists spinning their wheels every day, dhb will continue to provide kit that offers technical, elegant solutions, with longevity for your best rides.

Magazine reviews for dhb T1 Cycling Shoes
Review from road.cc
These trainer type SPD shoes from dhb strike an excellent balance between style, comfort and performance. Black suede/Codura uppers with subtle reflective detailing compliment anything in the cycling or civilian wardrobes whilst providing a little extra nocturnal security. A broader profile ensures day-long comfort, they'll work with clips and straps but not your overshoes.
Whilst the uppers remained surprisingly dry throughout some very unforgiving downpours, thoroughly sodden they require eight hours at room temperature to dry and a light spraying with suede protector every now and then will help preserve their good looks. The soles, with integral toe-bumpers, offer a good trade-off between efficient power transfer and sure-footed walking. They're hardy enough for dry towpath and trail excursions but more adventurous riders should look elsewhere.
The positioning of the cleat covers suggests offset mounting plates, which can force the knees into unnatural positions when used with SPD pedal systems, but I was relieved to find them aligned normally. Power transfer from the mid-soles, while not enjoying the same levels of rigidity as a performance road shoe, remains impressive and the anatomic heel cup provides excellent support.
In the tradition of cycling footwear, go a size larger than normal. The toe box feels narrower than their profile suggests and the laces could've been a fraction shorter. Small grumbles aside, they'd give more established brands a very good run for your money and could prove perfect for spring/summer touring and recreational riding.
In conclusion...
Stylish, practical leisure footwear with a bargain price tag
Rating: 8/10
Review from Bikeradar
The T1s' suede and Cordura upper is reinforced at the toe giving a moderately ventilated, supportive fit which helps them blend walkability with good on-the-bike performance.
The medium thickness nylon sole and soft rubber tread feel sporty and rigid while riding and flex enough so that comfort wouldn't prevent you from walking to the pub after work, though a bulge around the cleat bolts is uncomfortable.
Understated looks mean aesthetics shouldn't limit your social life either. A lack of padding around the cuff and so-so construction reminds you these are shoes on a budget.
In conclusion...
Great value shoes for those who can sacrifice a little cycling comfort
