Its exclusive formula, based on synthetic latex, contains a foaming element (ActiFoamTM) activated by wheel movement: this makes the sealant very effective also against punctures on tyre sidewalls.

Its fast sealing action make CaffélatexTM ideal for MTB and road tubeless, tubular and standard tyres. It repairs punctures up to 6mm (mtb) and 3mm (road), retaining a high durability (depending on kind of application and external conditions: can be below two months for a very lightweight mtb tyre in hot weather, or be over one year if used as preventive inside a road tubular).

Usage and storage temperatures range from very cold to very hot, exceeding by far those of first generation latex sealants (usage: -20/+50°C / storage: -15/ +30°C).

About MTB Tubeless Tyres

Tubeless tyres, also referred to as UST, have the primary benefit of avoiding needless pinch punctures when running at low pressure. They are specifically designed to enable the rider to run varying amounts of pressure to suit the riding conditions. They will require a Tubeless / UST specific rim, or a conversion kit, to be used without a tube. They can however have a tube fitted if they become damaged during use. Special tyre sealants can also be purchased to improve the seal and are applied inside the tyre when installing onto the rim.

caffelatex sealant so far so good... used this for over a month now, put it into a set of tubular road tyres using the caffelatex injector tool. have ridden approx 650 miles wothout any problems - had some bits of flint in the tyres but no punctures 01 July 2010

One of the best sealant out there I've been using this sealant in my tubulars (Veloflex carbon) for the last month and so far it has proved its value indeed. One comment here: Veloflex tires comes with latex tubes and I've read on the Internet, that Stans works best with butyl tubes (I have Effetto in my rear and Stans in the front). So yesterday I got this small puncture in my front and Stans saved me. I was able to roll home, but easy going, as I the tire could only carry approx. 3 bars. Otherwise Stans plug blew out. Standing in my garage looking at the tire (thinking hmm), It came to my head. Why not try Effetto and see if that could seal the tire? This was an obvious test. So I did. I pumped my front tire until it was empty of Stans (it all blew out of the hole). Then I added 35 ml of Effetto and inflated to 5 bar. So far so good. I immediately went for a 30 km test ride and had no problems what so ever! And this might be the most interesting part. When I got back, I looked at the hole, and saw what looked like a small patch outside the hole. Some of Effetto's latex milch must have come out, but instead of spraying out it just made a small seal on the tire on the hole. That is impressive! So to test whether this product really works or not, I pumped my tire to 8 bar yesterday and guess what; this morning it still holds air! The pressure dropped to 6,5 bar but that is related to latex tubes. So my conclusion here is; use Stans if you go with butyl tubes (I haven't tested Effetto on butyl, but it should work equally good). If you go with latex tubes, go with Effetto. One extra comment; note that Effetto doesn't have ammonia in it. This means it's easier on your tubes/tubeless system and it should last longer than Stans. Well I don't know anything about it, but that's what I read on the Internet. One thing for sure; next time I'm going for Effetto either butyl or latex tubes. Fast, effective sealant In the context of tubeless road tyre puncture sealants I've found this to be quite good - 30mls into each tyre does a handy job of sealing up small punctures that would otherwise see you patching the tyre or fitting a tube. Because it foams up quickly there's little/no feel of the wheels being off weighted or sluggish to spin up. The only time it can be slow to seal is if the puncture occurs in very wet conditions in which the sealant seems to have difficulty drying - not ideal granted, but if you can get into a covered area and dry off the area around the puncture to give the sealant an opportunity to do it's job you'll be ready to roll in just a few minutes 11 August 2011

Stick with STAN'S! Tried this poor imitation of a sealant in my Specialized Renegade tubeless tyres. Got a very small nick (2mm) in the sidewall and all 100 mL of the stuff just poured out onto the ground in a frothy mess. For some reason the stuff doesn't want to dry out. I have a small puddle of the stuff in my driveway that has been there for two days now. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on this stuff. Get some Stan's instead. 16 July 2011
