Hope someone can help,
I see the Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel has a noise rating of quite, This model doesn’t appear to have a noise rating? Could anyone advise if its Louder/Quieter/The same as the Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel?
This currently seems to be better value, but my main reason for buying a new turbo is as my magnetic Tacx makes to much noise.
Thanks

Answer:
I don`t know about the other trainer and I have read various reviews regarding other trainers and their noise levels. My wife currently has her hybrid on it with quite a heavy tread and the noise of the tyre humming is louder than the unit. When I put my road bike on it, it is very quiet indeed. If there is a quieter trainer out there I would be surprised.

Haven't tried the crono fluid, but I think the hydro mag will be quite a bit louder. I've just got it, and it's quieter than most mag trainers, but you still get the 'washing machine' effect.
Not silent but quieter than tacx

Hi - I'm just setting up my new turbo trainer and I've attached the handle and tightened the allen key, but I cannot turn the handle. It is stuck fast and I'm nervous that if I give it some serious action, I'm going to break the plastic altogether. Is there a lock nut or another way of releasing something? I can't see anything in the instructions suggesting that I need to free something beforehand.....

Answer:
There is a locking collar that stops the handle turning. This should be pulled out (away from the wheel) to unlock when fitting/removing the bike. Always push it in to lock it when the trainer is in use.

I can confirm that the lock ring on the handle needs to be near the handle and not the trainer for you to be able to turn the locking handle. I hope this helps.

I have Mavic wheels and changed the skewer to the one provided with the TT. To save switching it over, I've just kept the Elite skewer on the bike for some recent road rides, it seems to be fine, there's a thin bolt thread sticking out the offside by ~10mm. .

Answer:
This trainer is supplied with an Elite skewer which will provide a stable seating for the clamps. You can use any quick release skewer that has a round end on each side, the skewer needs to provide a stable surface for resting on the trainer. You can also purchase a Tacx skewer on our site at the link below.

You don't have to...just drop your bike in as it is if you don't mind a few scratches on your spindle end....you just need to align the quick release handle with the slot.

I am 'cak' handed but manage it easily. Place bike upside down, release rear wheel 'quick release' (put in safe place), slot in the quick release provided, tighten and done.
You only need to replace the 'quick release' on your bike with teh one provided if it does not fiot securely on the blocks.

I believe recording current speed, average speed and distance "travelled" is very useful for motivation and to get the maximum benefit from a turbo training programme (along with a Heart rate monitor). I bought a cheap 8 function computer and mounted the sensor on the rear wheel and the unit on the top tube, since the cable wasn't quite long enough to reach the bars.

No, it doesn't, but as I'm more concerened about how long I'm on it, rather than how far I would have gone, it's not a problem for me personally.

Bumpy ride on mountain bike tyres, but doable. My husband put a smooth road tyre on the back wheel of my mountain bike to use on the machine, so I can still use my mountain bike and get a smooth ride too.

Yes it can. The unit has three adjustment fixing points for different size wheels, however, they recommend using a slick tyre not a "knobbly" mountain bike tyre.

There are no instructions on how to assemble the trainer. Now I have a roller with two bolts and a plastic part with two holes. However the pitch of the bolts is not the pitch of the holes and I have no help whatsoever.Help appreciated.

There were very brief assembly instructions in the documentation for mine.
You should attach the roller to the frame through the long holes (not round) so that you can adjust it's position.
Hope this helps.

I found instructions in the box. There are two bolts with washers that attach from underneath to fix the roller unit onto the hollow base 'box'. Have a good look at the roller unit to check where the bolts go.

Bolts go through the oval holes in the plastic...took at bit of figuring out too but basically you can fit it through the different holes depending on the size of your bike. Dont be fooled by the holes in the "feet" of the plastic part.

I am sorry to hear of the missing instructions, if you would like the instructions sent out to you please contact sales@wiggle.co.uk who will be happy to help you with this. The two screws should fit the threaded inserts in the bottom of the resistance unit, if they do not it could be that there is a fault. I think you should contact sales@wiggle.co.uk so we can help further with the problem.

Hi
Does this trainer come with a monitor that can be mounted on the handlbars (clips into top of the resistance switcher) that displays speed, power etc?
Does it come with a front wheel stand, or if not, do you sell Elite front stands?
Also, does it come with a rear-wheel quick release to fit the traininer?
Thanks

I went for the hydromag as you get the road-like feel of the fluid and the ability to alter the resistance via the magnetic resistance. It really seems like the best of both worlds at a reasonable price

The two trainers are basically the same, both use Fluid resistance units to provide progressive resistance. The bi difference is that the HydroMag trainer has a magnetic resistance lever which allows you to apply extra resistance to simulate different riding conditions.
