About the Elite brand
Elite have been manufacturers of cycling trainers, workstands and bottle cages. Elite were born at the end of the 1970s as builders of rollers for bike training and bike racks for cars. Elite entered the bicycle market as a company with the ability to interpret the needs of the bicycle market sector by creating modern and original products. In 1984, Elite was the first company in Europe to create and produce a roller with a posterior supporting stand, putting a milestone on the road of the development of this component. I've been wondering the same thing... I think I have managed to find an answer from the manufacturers website.
Looking at the PDF http://www.elite-it.com/english/pdf/manuali/Crono_fluid.pdf (page 14) there is no block included.
I actually thought it included a block as the Australian version that someone I know has came with a block, but it's also a red base frame.
Oh well, it's ordered now (provided wiggle actually get some from their distributors), I'll probably just use an old phone book or something if I want the bike to be level.
