About the Assos brand

Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. Well, they do look good.... If you want to have completely matching Assos kit these will do the job, they do look good. They are also surprisingly well made, I purchased the red and the white, white gets filthy but with some stain remover and a good wash they do clean up just fine. Like others have said, don't worry about cutting the fabric for the cleat, I have worn them quite a few times and the fabric hasn't ripped or come apart any further. Can be fiddly to put on though. Do you need them for function? Of course not. Will they complete your euro Assos look? Yes. 01 July 2010

Top product I'm a big fan of the Belgian bootie and these are about the best I've tried. They've lasted longer than any other and the white has kept its colour well. This is my third pair. 28 June 2010

Smart looking, but be careful if choosing white! I took a punt on these when they got reduced in price. Was a little sceptical about cutting the material for the cleat, but its actually dead easy. The fit is great and my feet were kept snug today during a ride in 8 degree temperatures. I ride with giro prolight shoes which are not particulary warm, but these socks made the difference. My only gripe was due to my own doing, which was stepping from my front door into a pile of mud!!!! The moral of the story is you need to be pretty relaxed about them not staying white for too long in the autumn! 07 October 2012

size

With the biggest size being 43-46, I wear a 47 size road shoe.Would the sock strech over my shoe without damage?

I brought these for my husband who takes a 47 shoe. These fit fine and they are pretty stretchy, but allow a bit of time to put them on - not the easiest things to slip on!

I bought a size too small once. You can make it work - but not in the long run. It will be difficult to pull the sock around your heel which is annoying and the fabric will start to come apart.

This would really depend on your shoes. If you have very slim road shoes I don't see why it wouldn't fit. If you have shoes with alot of buckles and scuff guards you may have some problems fitting these over your shoes.

What size to order for Assos Cover Sock Overshoe?

I wear size 42 Specialised S-Works road shoes and I would like to know what size to order. The sizing guide in the description says size II (40-43) but in buy it now it shows that size I is 38-42 and size II is 40-43. What size should I order?
