Thermal Roubaix Bib shorts are the Professional Pelotons best kept secret until recently. They use them in the tough conditions of the Spring Classics. For us mere mortals they provide a host of options. Some riders don’t like ¾’s or tights and combining a knee or leg warmer converts these into a late autumn or early winter garment. They are also perfect for Sportives when the temperature is below 20*c and above 10*c as you can combine them with warmers or use a quality embrocation from the pelotons favourite Morgan Blue. If you happen to live in colder climbs using these to double up under a pair of tights can provide welcome warmth on very cold days. The Pace Roubaix bib tights offer the highest level of comfort afforded by the new Giro chamois. Try a pair out, you might be surprised how much you use them.
Pace has been replaced by the new Vaeon range for 2012.
Vaeon – for Autumn weather.
Vaeon Roubaix - for general Winter weather.
Vaeon Reflex - for general Winter weather and low light conditions
Vaeon Zero - for coldest weather.

About Lycra Cycling Shorts
Cycle shorts offer unrestricted movement on the bike with the added benefit of a chamois for comfort. They are the traditional cycling leg wear for any distance rider. Lycra shorts hold their internal pad in the ideal position throughout the ride, offering comfort and cushioning for both on and off road riding. Lycra shorts stretch with your body so there are no seams to rub you up the wrong way or restrict your pedalling motion. They are lightweight in material and since there is only one layer of thin fabric, they breathe well and keep you cool on hot days, or can be used under a pair of winter tights. Higher end models will have more panels and will generally fit better, a good pair of shorts is essential for longer rides and combined with a chamois crème make a wise investment.
About the dhb brand
The dhb brand was first born in Hampshire, England. The founders – d, h and b decided they didn’t want to just sell bicycle gear but they also wanted to be involved with every aspect of it’s design and development. Five years later, with international expansion all products are still ridden extensively by the in-house R&D team in the local South Downs region. Getting out and riding is the core philosophy of the dhb brand. We want people to be outside riding doing what they love most. The dhb range of cycling apparel and accessories aims to engage all levels of rider - from novice, to triathlete and competitive sportive rider. We have worked with skilled technicians and factories across the globe to bring ‘our’ kit to ‘you’ - the enthusiast. dhb has experienced phenomenal success in the United Kingdom, and over the past years our reach has extended through Europe to fellow riders in Japan and Australia. The new branding for dhb is a turning point marking our increasing energy for our brand. With more cyclists spinning their wheels every day, dhb will continue to provide kit that offers technical, elegant solutions, with longevity for your best rides.

Magazine reviews for dhb Pace Roubaix Padded Bib Shorts
Review from road.cc
For some riders, it may be getting too late in the year to think about exposed legs, but if you're still road-racing, or getting ready for 'cross, it's worth having a look at the new Pace Roubaix bib-shorts from dhb.
Replacing the model known as the Earnley, the Pace Roubaix bib-shorts boast a new cut and some new features. The main fabric is a medium weight (235g) lycra, bushed on the inside, smooth on the outside, while the straps and back of the bib is made from a lighter mesh - so the shorts stay up nicely without your torso getting too sweaty.
To give a good anatomical fit (ie, the 'bend' in the shorts to align with the way your body bends when sitting on the bike) they're constructed from a surprising number of separate panels. This means lots of seams, but I've used these shorts on several long training rides of 50 miles or more, and there's no chafing or discomfort. The many panels certainly make for a perfect fit - with nowhere too tight or baggy.
The pad is also very comfortable, with slightly different shapes on the male and female versions of the shorts.
Other features include silicon grippers to stop the shorts riding up your legs, and a little orange tab in the seam at the back. Also on the rear-end is the dhb wording and logo in reflective white, and there's a discreet little logo in red on the right leg too.
Some bib-shorts have a zip at the front (to make pee-stops easier for the chaps); the Pace Roubaix don't have this feature, but the front of the bib is not too high and there's enough stretch in the fabric to do the needful.
The shorts are available in black only, and cost £33 on the Wiggle website (www.wiggle.co.uk).
In conclusion...
A very comfortable pair of shorts, at a very good price, ideal for autumn racing or end-of-season sportives if the sun's out, and of course you can wear them under tights or with knee-warmers if the weather isn't too friendly.
Rating: 4.5/5
Review from Cycling Active
Unique in this test, the dhb shorts use a thicker, thermal fabric more often seen in winter tights. Initially this may seem odd, but the extra warmth is welcome early or late in the year and is wearable up to 12-15deg so more useable than you may think. In addition to the extra seasons' use, the pad is very, very good. Featuring a quality of padding more often seen in shorts twice this price, it was comfy enough for long four-hour rides yet didn't feel too bulky when getting down to racing.
In conclusion...
A great, if slightly unusual product
