The Montana 600 is Waterproof and shockproof and will withstand the toughest of adventures across all terrains. It also features a one-of-a-kind dual battery system giving you the option of either using the rechargeable lithium-ion pack or traditional AA batteries.
With an array of compatible mounts, Montana 600 is designed for use on boats, as a handheld, off-roading or in your car. Use the in-car mount with City Navigator NT and Garmin GB Discoverer maps for spoken, turn-by-turn driving directions.
Adding more maps is easy with Garmin's wide array of detailed topographic, marine and road maps. With its microSD™ card slot, Montana 600 lets you load TOPO U.S. 24K maps and hit the trail, plug in BlueChart g2 preloaded cards for a great day on the water or City Navigator map data for turn-by-turn routing on roads.
Montana 600 also supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (subscription required), that lets you download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps. In addition, Montana is compatible with Custom Maps, free software that transforms paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device.
About Outdoor GPS Units
GPS receivers are now made waterproof, lightweight and small enough to take outdoors and provide you with easy navigation and/or a detailed record of your journey. Most navigation units come with only very basic maps installed and you may need to purchase more detailed maps for your area to be loaded onto the unit.
