Garmin Europe is pleased to announce a product change(1) for TOPO Great Britain on DVD. This DVD contains the same great coverage, features and mapping data, but is now compatible with both Windows® and Mac® operating systems using Garmin's new application, BaseCamp(2).
TOPO Great Britain is designed to provide interactive viewing of detailed topographic maps. The maps are built from vector based data and provide outdoor
enthusiasts with innovative, object oriented cartography. It contains descriptive details for features typically found in topographic maps, including detailed contours, tracks, paths, trig and geographic points, as well as vertical profiling with DEM (digital elevation model) shading and route elevation profile on compatible units.
You'll have access to searchable points of interest such as food and drink, lodging, recreation, petrol stations, hospitals and more, plus with the included NAVTEQ data you'll be able to auto-route on the roads to get to your planned hike, trail or trip point.
With Garmin's new application, BaseCamp, you will be able to view and manage waypoints, routes and tracks on your computer and GPS. This new application includes 2-D and 3-D map views, rotated map orientation, elevation profiles and animated playback of routes and tracks. It allows you to organize trip data into folders and transfer trip data to and from compatible devices. The software also supports geotagging photos, higher resolution images and more.
Product contains the same mapping data, but now includes new application, BaseCamp, and allows for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Will only work in a DVD drive! Once opened this product cannot be returned unless faulty. Before you can download map detail to a memory card or directly to your compatible Garmin GPS, you must "unlock" the TOPO Great Britain DVD. Simply follow the instructions on the included certificate to unlock the entire DVD. Next, download the data to a data card or to your compatible Garmin unit.
The unlock code is situated on a separate voucher inserted between the cardboard backing of the packaging, do NOT use code on back of CD Jewel case as this is the incorrect code.
Areas excluded from the disk are, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man & The Channel Islands.
Unit compatibility, this mapping software will work in conjunction with any previous mapping enabled Garmin unit, Legend monochrome, Vista monochrome, legend c, vista c, GPS 60c, GPS 60cs, Legend Cx, Vista Cx, GPS 60 Cx, GPS 60 CSx, Venture Cx, Quest, 76 Series, 96/96c, GPS MAP 276c, 376c, GPS 18 Auto bundle, cfQue 1620, GPS 10, Nuvi. Your Map transferral will be limited to the internal memory size of the unit.(Unless using new X Series expandable memory units).
On Monochrome units resolution will be less than colour units. Extended resolution available in the Etrex Cx series & GPS 60 Cx & CSx. (Units this will not be compatible with are GPS 100 Series & panel mount aviation units).
It is however recommended that this is used with a unit that has a capability of 20MB or higher. Or the new "X" Series.
