Top Features of the Mizuno Wave Cabrakan 4 Shoes AW12
The Wave Cabrakan 4 offers a great package of grip, protection comfort and stability.
Leading the line up in Mizuno’s trail range the Wave Cabrakan 4 is an update based on the superb midsole and outsole of the predecessor (Wave Cabrakan 2). The sole provides sure grip on all types of surface and is versatile enough to be used for shorter distances on roads as well. The full length fan shaped wave plate helps stabilise the foot while keeping enough flexibility for you to adapt to the surface you are running on. The cushioning has been upgraded with AP+ which improves the durability and also gives that lovely springy ride associated with Mizuno’s premium midsole polymer.
The upper has aggressive moulded overlays to offer protection and the fit and support are finely tuned with the Mizuno Dynamotion fit concept which makes the upper work in harmony with your feet as the turn and flex. Water resistant mesh provides moisture protection without over heating your feet.
With AP+, Mizuno has engineered a midsole polymer that provides fantastic cushioning mile after mile. Runners will actually see the benefit of AP+ in the increased durability of the midsoles, but more importantly, they will feel the benefit every time they take to the road. A high-tech formulation using multiple polymer types gives AP+ its exceptional performance in terms of cushioning durability, increased rebound and springy feel. Extensive testing has shown that even after 600km of running, the cushioning performance of AP+ stays close to its maximum.
Other polymers lose a high proportion of their cushioning properties quite early in their lifetime. But AP+ retains 80% if its cushioning, even after 600km, keeping that fresh out of the box feel. Comfort is accentuated by the unique rebound properties of AP+ which gives it its springy feel. With every impact, AP+ recovers more quickly and more completely than standard midsole polymers giving the shoe a spring which makes for a fantastic ride.
|Revolutionary Infinity Wave provides the ultimate in cushioning, rebound and durability by reducing the shoes reliance on midsole foam|
|The Tech: Developed in Mizuno's Sozo Studio SmoothRide Engineering is designed to minimise the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot through the phases of the running cycle by reducing shock and increasing flexibility. This allows Mizuno to create running footwear that provides an extremely comfortable running experience through an even smoother ride. Cushioning at heel strike, the angle of the medial wave and midsole materials combine to achieve Mizuno
What it does: Mizuno design philosophy. Links Mizuno technical components from heel strike to toe off to achieve maximum comfort, feel and performance.
|The Tech: Revolutionary New Midsole material. Lighter weight with increased cushioning durability. AP+ (Acceleration Polymer) only losses 20% of its cushioning after 600km. All Midsoles have a mileage as over time the material compresses. Mizuno's new AP+ Midsole takes longer to compress, therefore staying more cushioned for longer.
What it does: The AP+ Midsole provides a lighter more cushioned trainer for longer.
|The Tech: VS-1 provides
outstanding shock attenuation and is specifically located to compliment each shoe/running style and provide deformation to the midsole for correct and natural foot alignment through the gait cycle.
What it Does: Provides impact protection complimenting the shock absorption of the Mizuno wave plate.
X10 is made from Carbon Rubber. Located at the heel on the outsole.
What it Does: X10 is made of carbon rubber and protects high wear areas, and provides more traction at heel strike
|The Tech: An advanced evolution of the dynamotion fit system using the latest motion capture and biomechanics technology. Mizuno has developed a design blueprint to engineer a shoe that works with your foot throughout the gait cycle.
What it does: Stretchy upper mesh on vamp ensures trainer moves the way you move. Upper does not deform around movement of foot. Ensures comfortable fit on every run.
|The Tech: Bi-Directional outsole rubber synthetic leather compound breaks through water, improving grip in all conditions.
What it does: Improves traction on all wet surfaces
About Offroad Running Shoes
Offroad or "trail" shoes offer increased outsole traction and uppers with toe bumpers and reinforced stitching for more durability. The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. You should choose offroad shoes if you do a lot of off-road running and need shoes with extra traction, more durable uppers and extra protection from the terrain.
