The compact chainset, with a wide range of sprockets on the cassette, gives you a large choice of gears for speed and for climbing. Many sportives events incorporate some nasty/steep climbs on the route so having a compact chainset makes life a little bit easier.

The FP QUATTRO derives directly from the DOGMA frame but uses the ultra-reliable, proven 30HM12K carbon of the FP3 and many other Pinarello models. Designed with the Pinarello LAB's SOE System (Simulation, Optimize, Evolution), it's an exceptional evolution of the FP3 in an asymmetric version to exploit the new technology successfully introduced by DOGMA.

FP Quattro has the new Onda™ FPK1 fork as fitted on the PARIS, with 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" tapering on the steering column. The frame is monocoque with Onda™ FPK1 monostay, asymmetric rear stays, and the tried and true Most Croxover oversize bottom bracket.

Superb Just bought a mekk 2poggio on cyclescheme after 15 years of the bike (got into motor bikes instead) however was tempted by the 45% discount and bought the Quattro This was another class. Riding faster already superb stiff ride handles well quick ultagra better than 105 and it looks sexy Buy if on discount delivery was faultless note wiggle's pedals are embarrassing and pinarello's size is one larger than your usual size 27 July 2012

Best bike I've owned I've been a recreational cyclist for some time but decided to step up my training and do a few sportives. I treated myself to this given that Wiggle had it on sale with a good discount. It's the first carbon frame I've had and the Ultegra group set is a step up from the 105s on my other bile. I've been delighted with the bike's performance so far. It handles well particularly on hills - easier to push harder uphill and firm and smooth on descents. I've found the Most saddle pretty uncomfortable on my initial rides but it is improving with a bit more use. For anyone in the same position as myself I'd certainly recommend the bike at its current Wiggle price. 10 July 2012

Pinarello FP4 2011 Stunning Bike Having not bought a racing bike for 21 years, I was initially looking in the £1k bracket but saw this hugely discounted FP4 and couldn't resist. The advance in technology in 21 years is huge, so the Ultegra shifters are a novelty but very precise. The 10 speed cassette offers a perfect range of gears and the 50/34 allows for sensible easy climbing, ideal for the forthcoming Alsace challenge! I can't comment on the wheels due to lack of experience but they are fine for me. I added Ultegra clipless pedals which are cool too. The frame design is visually stunning. I'm so chuffed with it but the British Summer is hampering my familiarisation! Hopefully it'll help a 41 year old roll back the years and shed a pound or two........ 02 July 2012

Great Value This bike wasn't on my wish list but at the incredible 30% discount and the fact that I had a set of RS80 wheels to stick on it meant it was too good an offer to miss. The bike is aggressive and fun to ride but also very sure on the road. Really can't believe I have such a quality bike for under £2k. 01 July 2012

I am 5' 11" with a 31" inside leg. Would you recommend the 55cm or 56cm frame size.

Also, what size is the crank on the bike. Can it be supplied with a 170cm crank (if not already)?

I am the same size as you and bought the 54cm which is fine. I suspect the 53 would also be suitable as the frame seems big compared to, say, my 54cm Trek 1.2 training bike.

Due to Pinarello sizing on this bike from your measurements I would suggest a 51cm frame as it has a 53.5cm top and seat tube. I hope this helps.
