Tried it to replace Garmin Edge Belt To warn other users; My Garmin Edge 800 belts have failed twice. DC Rainmaker recommended replacing it with a Polar belt. I purchased one and found this incorrect. Whilst the Garmin heart monitor clips to the Polar belt, it is not that secure and the Garmin monitor dropped off part way thru a club run! To make it worse the Polar belt did not work with the Edge 800 heart monitor. In summary, the Polar belt is quality made and I know is reliable with polar. Hence good reviews. Just dont combine with Garmin. 07 October 2012

It is what it is... After time, these break at the fabric loop where the securing hook slides into it. What's nice is that Wiggle stock a replacement strap without the need to buy a new transmitter. This is just wear and tear, not a specific failing of the item. 28 September 2012

Not the wearlink+ strap, but Polar's soft strap Described as the "Spare Elastic Strap Wearlink Plus" the one that I was sent was the "Soft Strap" - I haven't used it yet but once I do I shall update the scores which currently represent it looking as one would expect. The interim review is for anyone comparing apples with pears on the price front. The soft strap is, accorcing to Polar's website, the most comfortable of the straps so here's hoping. It also appears to be more slightly more expensive. 27 September 2012

Good replacement strap I bought this to use with my Garmin 800 and heart rate monitor after the Garmin strap stopped working, which is a common problem apparently. The strap is of better quality than the Garmin one and can be fastened and unfastened unlike the Garmin which has to come off over your head. The studs are the same distance apart so it works perfectly in this respect. It also works well in use but needs to be thoroughly wet to conduct. You have to drench the contact areas under the tap before use so it will work and even then it takes about a mile to start working properly after which it's bob on. But if you stop for a coffee and it dries out because you stop sweating it will not work properly until you start sweating again to get it lubricated again. It is comfortable and gives no other problems. So in summary, it's better than it's Garmin but does have some limitations. 16 August 2012
