Upper
The MT91 has a tough Nubuck leather upper paired with a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane for total protection in cold and wet conditions. A comfort footwear liner provides a soft and high wicking inner surface. The heel and toe are reinforced with rubber for effective sealing, scuff resistance and durability. The heels also have additional lateral reinforcement for stability, preventing ankle roll while hiking or pedalling. The lace up closure is coupled with a mini power strap for a firm, secure hold.
GORE-TEX® Membrane: GORE-TEX® products use a revolutionary bi-component membrane which is both completely waterproof and completely breathable at the same time.
The membrane contains over 9 billion microscopic pores which are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times bigger than a molecule of moisture vapor. So while water in its liquid form cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane, as moisture vapor it can easily escape. The patented GORE-TEX® membrane makes garments durably waterproof, windproof and breathable so you stay dry and comfortable.
Vibram Sole
The lightweight, SPD compatible sole provides superb traction on off-road terrain thanks to a rugged tread pattern and grippy vibram rubber construction. A flexible half length shank plate provides pedalling efficiency while allowing enough flex for comfortable walking.

Rest assured, these boots will fit the SPD road pedals you have as i have the exact same ones on my bike and they are also perfect for hiking.
