How Long Does It Burn For?
Each Exposure MaXx model has the same burn times for each of the 3 main settings. The difference is as simple as 1,2,3. Depending on whether you choose 1, 2 or 3 LEDs (Joystick/Race/Enduro)
MaXx: 3 hrs / Ride: 10 hrs / Low: 24 hrs / Flashing: Days!
How Bright Is It?
Again in 2008 we are using the World's leading LED technology. The new Seoul emitters run brighter and more efficiently than the previous Luxeon LEDs allowing Exposure Lights to give you previously unheard of brightness. WARNING: Never look directly into the LEDs even if you're wearing sunglasses!
Race MaXx on: MaXx: 480 lumens / Ride: 240 lumens / Low: 120 lumens.
What's The Beam Pattern Like?
Exposure lights exclusively use collimated lens techonology. These lenses are World renowned as the most efficient optics to be used with LEDs. Moving on from our previous model ranges, we have this year developed "Dual Beam Optics" (DBO) in our collimated lens. What we have acheived is the perfect combination of flood and spot beam pattern in a single collimated lens that measures only 18mm in diameter! Using the same DBO lens across the MaXx range gives optimum beam pattern on the trail or on the road from each light. Again, it's as simple as 1,2,3 whether you have a Joystick, Race or Enduro light, each uses the same DBO lens.
What Extras Do I Get For My Money?
Race MaXx is supplied with the new Exposure universal QR (Quick Release) bracket. One size fits all, 25.4 - 31.8 handlebar size. Simply bolt the bracket "cleat" to the light and click the light onto the bracket. The dovetail design mounting makes the light totally secure on the handlebars. Pull down the red button to release the light. Simple! No tools required!
Every Exposure MaXx light comes with smart charger. Chargers are available as: UK / Euro / US / Asia plugs. The smart charger has an LED that varies between Red and Green, depending on its state of charge. Red = Charging, Green = Charged.
What Upgrades Are Available?
Every Exposure MaXx light works with the new "Piggyback" battery system. 1 or 3 cell "Piggyback" batteries are available and plug in to the charger port of any light to extend your burn times...... to the MaXx!
What Size Is The Race MaXx?
All the new MaXx Lights are seriously small. All lights are based on a simple cylinder and the Race MaXx measures 46mm wide by 106mm long. This is the same as the Enduro MaXx.
What's in the box?
The light unit itself, smart charger, QR handlebar bracket, bracket bolt, cleat, cleat bolt, 25.4 - 26.0 spacer and rubber strips for 31.8 fitting.
Only one Smart Port accessory can be used at a time. I.e. you cannot have the Remote Switch and a RedEye rear light at the same time
About Front Lights
Cycle light technology has moved on greatly over the years, traditional 'bulb' lights have been more or less replaced by LED and HID systems. Battery, lens and reflector technology has been improved greatly resulting in brighter and longer run times. Wiggle lists a large selection of bicycle lights suitable for lit streets in the city, or unlit country lanes and even bike lights suitable for off road riding, ranging from around £8 to over £300 they vary greatly in purpose and performance. Tiny LED's with flashing or constant modes are great for being seen in built up areas, whilst rechargeable systems can keep the road or off-road trails lit up for non-stop riding at night.
All electrical goods sold on wiggle that come with a mains power supply are supplied with a UK plug. Please check the product description to see if any other plugs are known to be included in the box, otherwise you may need an adapter for use in your country. Most power adapters will accept 110-240 Volts.
In order to cycle on the road it may be a legal requirement in your country to use a light certified to a specific standard or an international equivalent. Most but not all lights sold on Wiggle are certified and labelled with a European CEN standard. Please check your country’s requirements to see if this is sufficient and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see if this light has been additionally certified for your country. Strangely some of the very best lights are not legal on their own and should be used with an additional legal backup light.

Magazine reviews for Exposure Race Front Light 2010
Review from What MTB
Exposure has three lights - one, two and three LED. The Race MaXX sits in the middel and has been designed with less weight, specifically to suit 24hr racers. There was a time when we wouldn't have deemed two LED's powerful enough to cope with race pace over technical and often unfamiliar terrain, but advances in LED technology have produced a beam that's sufficiently powerful, with an even tone an excellent breadth, that your vision towards the margins of the trail isn't compromised. Exposure has also changed the mounting system - now once the bracket is in place it's an easy one-handed operation to click in or remove the light. Plus the integral battery means there are no connections to come loose or cables to lose/leave at home.
In conclusion...
A high quality light aimed squarely at the 24hr racer.

Available to UK residents only.
