The Felt Nine Comp is a perfect 29er hardtail for the keen trail warrior, offering an excellent level of equipment for the money, meaning you'll be trading in your old 26" in a heartbeat.
The Felt Nine Race features a double-butted 6061 aluminium frame designed to optimize the trail-riding advantages of the larger 29-inch wheels. It uses a hydroformed top tube, forged bottom bracket yoke, IS disc mounts, oversized integrated head tube for integrated headset and a replaceable derailleur hanger.
The suspension fork on the Nine Race is the Rock Shox Reba RL 29 which has an ample 100mm of travel and features turnkey lockout and adjustable rebound, with lightweight magnesium lowers and a post mount disc mount. The stanchions are 32mm in diameter and made from 7000 series aluminium. This makes for a plush, stiff fork with plenty of adjustability for dialling in your preferred riding style on the trail or fine tuning according to different trail conditions.
The hydraulic disc brakes are Avid's Elixir 3 units which are good quality stoppers and use the usual combination of 180mm front rotor with 160mm at the rear. The wheels are WTB's Speed Disc All Mtn double wall aluminium rims laced to a forged aluminium sealed bearing front hub from Felt and a Shimano M525 freehub at the rear. Drivetrain is a mix of Shimano SLX (shifters, front derailleur), XT (rear derailleur) and Deore level (M552 triple chainset) kit giving you a good blend of quality componentry where you need it and the finishing kit is mainly Felt-branded to keep the price keen.
All up the Felt Nine Race makes for an incredibly good value trail partner and provides a level of kit and functionality you'd have to spend considerably more to improve on.

About Hard Tail Mountain Bikes
If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
About the Felt brand
Felt is an American bicycle manufacturer based in Irvine, California. In the early 1990s the company was founded by Jim Felt who designed some of the very first triathlon bikes that propelled many of the worlds greatest athletes to Iron Man victories. High profile sponsorship has remained an intrinsic part of Felt’s strategy highlighted by their association with the Garmin Transitions professional road team and Olympic Triathletes Jan Frodeno and Emma Snowsill. With a strong product focus Felt has gone from strength-to-strength, going from just six bike models in the USA to over 150 bike models, sold in over 30 countries. Felt have created a niche group of highly skilled and dedicated people who work together to create bicycles that consistently exceed their riders’ expectations by providing a sense of individuality, inspiration and pride in ownership. Felt are not governed by their competitors’ measurements of success - the desire to push beyond the limits of technology never allows Felt to rest on their laurels. As their universal mission statement suggests, Felt’s reason for existing is “To design, develop, and deliver the best bicycles in the world. Period.”
