This bike punches above it's weight. Overall this bike is definitely value for money.my first outing on this bike was on the Ballyhoura mountain bike trail which will be familiar with most mountain bikers in Ireland and even some from abroad! The bike handles really well and even on slippery rocks and slimy boardwalks the bike does what it's supposed to! The brakes are fingertip sensitive and the saddle is also very sensitive! As this is my first proper mountain bike I have to say I am more than happy with it and would fully recommend it to anyone... 07 December 2012

A lot of bike for your money Great bike, not the lightest I've ridden but the quality of the components is excellent for a bike in this price range. Only complaint is the inner tube on the rear wheel had 5, yes 5, slow punctures in it. Got 5 miles before it died on me. Replaced tube and bike is awesome again. Gear change is so smooth, and consistent, brakes are solid and the Felt saddle is one of the comfiest I've sat on. 15 November 2012

unreal how great this bike is. Ive currently just finished my second tour of Afghanistan and needed a new hobby. after long debate with the missus i decided to buy this felt q720 hardtail. im 22 years old and due to work i havnt had a bike for a few years and used to do dirt jumping on a mongoose hardtail, so i already had some knowledge on bikes and was drawn in straight away. I've been out on this bike three times in the past three days of having the bike and I've put it to the test 70 miles done already . extremely comfy ride handles really well down hill, cross country and also on the road. The only down side to this product is the tires that i will be changing in the near distant future but other than that i would highly recommend this bike . BUY IT 14 November 2012

How heavy is the bike?

I read a review that said the q720 was very heavy for a hard tail. How heavy is it?

I have not weighed the bike but there are 6 bikes in my home, 4 of which are MTBs and are all top quality and the Q720 seems the lightest, I know this as I have to lift all of them onto a wall bracket to keep them clear, and please bear in mind that all of my bikes are XL so I am judging all the bikes of the same size frame etc.

What size frame should I order a Felt Mountain Bike in

I ride a a Trek 58 cm frame road bike, I am 185 cm tall with an inside leg of 34".

In this bike for your height and inside leg measurement I would suggest the 21.5" for the most comfortable ride. I hope this helps.

Sizing question

I'm just over 5' 7", inside leg 31" and currently ride an old Saracen with a 17" frame that fits me fine (maybe a touch too small as I have the seat and bars quite high)...the Felt sizing chart seems to suggest I'd be best suited to a 15.5" frame, but that sounds a little small to me...d'you think I'd be better off with the 17.5"?

I have found the Felt Sizing to be very accurate so the 15.5" should be fine, but if in doubt go larger, but I would add the frame geometry is the best I have seen so if Felt say 15.5" then you should be fine fine with that.

You have long legs for your height so the reach of the 15 will be ok while the standover may well be low.

I'd recommend a 17 in this case.

I would go with the 19.5" frame, I am 6'2" and have the 21.5" with a 32 inside leg, the frame geometry on the 21.5" suits the taller person, whereas you have long legs but the rest of your body will fit the 19.5" frame so much better.
