Felt has updated the Z Series with an all new frame design that improves performance and handling. The frame also has a slightly longer head tube giving more flexibility in handlebar and rider positioning as-well-as a sloping top tube that increases standover clearance. Improved tube shapes, more efficient carbon layups, and optimised tube intersections result in a Z that is 25% stiffer, 50g lighter, and even smoother than previous models and provides all the performance necessary to line up for your most difficult race yet, or your fastest century ever. Stiff enough to stand up to your hardest effort, the Z5 provides unparalleled vibration damping and vertical compliance to leave you fresh at the end of your ride or race.
With Felt’s UHC Performance carbon fibre frame and Shimano’s 10 speed 105 groupset the Z5 is a bike that performs well and ideally suited to recreational riders looking for top of the line performance. The chainset (FSA Gossamer) comes in the form of a compact (50/34 chainrings), which is ideal for long endurance events like a sportive event or similar. The compact comes fitted with smaller chainrings and coupled with a large cassette ratio on the back wheel, means you’ll have a bike that can travel at speed nicely as well as climb hills quickly and easily so you shouldn’t find yourself longing for a triple chainset when the road heads skywards.
The Z5 also features Mavic’s Aksium wheels. These are strong and incredibly reliable performing well in all weathers and over the roughest of tarmac (within limits). Mavic tyres also accompany these wheels thus providing a lovely blend or robustness and grip – ideal for those pothole lanes found in the UK. Felt have also used their inhouse components (bars, stem, and seat post) to complete the finishing kit for the Z4. This helps to keep the price point as low as possible, yet still provide you with high quality features and components.
Whether you’re racing a Gran Fondo or the Tour de France, the perfect bicycle is one that delivers lightning quick performance at any speed, and at the same time provides the compliance and fit necessary to make even the longest ride enjoyable.
Whether you choose a Z model built from super-premium UHC Ultimate+Nano carbon fibre and cutting-edge electronic Shimano Di2 shifting, or one of the lightweight aluminium/carbon fibre models, you’ll get the same assured handling and race-worthy stiffness. If ever there was a bike to inspire you to reach new heights, the Z is it.
Stiff enough to accelerate instantly, compliant enough to take the edge off during longer rides, the Z5 is ready for your next cycling epic.
Each Z bike is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure your bike arrives in perfect condition.

About the Felt brand
Felt is an American bicycle manufacturer based in Irvine, California. In the early 1990s the company was founded by Jim Felt who designed some of the very first triathlon bikes that propelled many of the worlds greatest athletes to Iron Man victories. High profile sponsorship has remained an intrinsic part of Felt’s strategy highlighted by their association with the Garmin Transitions professional road team and Olympic Triathletes Jan Frodeno and Emma Snowsill.
With a strong product focus Felt has gone from strength-to-strength, going from just six bike models in the USA to over 150 bike models, sold in over 30 countries. Felt have created a niche group of highly skilled and dedicated people who work together to create bicycles that consistently exceed their riders’ expectations by providing a sense of individuality, inspiration and pride in ownership.
Felt are not governed by their competitors’ measurements of success - the desire to push beyond the limits of technology never allows Felt to rest on their laurels. As their universal mission statement suggests, Felt’s reason for existing is “To design, develop, and deliver the best bicycles in the world. Period.”

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
One was advised to go 56cm the other 58cm but they were virtually identical measurements??
In order to carry out a full examination of someone we would need the arm span length as well; this is due to reach requirements, etc.
With the measurements you have provided me I would recommend a 54cm frame. The 58cm (XL) would be far too big for you as that is more designed for a 6ft+ customer.
If you find that you have a positive arm span to height you will need the 56cm frame, however if you have a negative arm span to height you will need the 54cm.
I hope this helps.
There is some conflicting info on the website relating to the Felt Z5 105 2013, one section states "The Z5 also features Mavic’s Aksium wheels" while another section indicates "SRAM S30 wheel set".
